Davesnave.......I think everyone locally I have spoken to regarding their plants /gardens have said the same thing, lads of failed veg and flowers etc, the only things that people are having sucess with is broad beans, that they planted last autumn, Loads of people havent even bothered with hanging baskets this year....so i do feel sorry for the independant grower/seller this year.

Lots of people are also saying this weather is going to cause a shortage of fresh fruit and veg, and the prices are going to be high:eek:

I'm not grumbling much about the garden, as we'll manage fine with what we have and the flowers/ornamental things aren't suffering. What bothers me most is the state the hay is in now.

In the polytunnel things are catching-up a bit, but we'll not have any peppers till August. Regarding shortages, I suppose it depends how widespread this poor weather is. Chances are that we'll just import more, but then prices won't fall seasonally. Our growers will be hammered anyway. :(

It was quite pleasant out there for a few hours last night. DW managed to weed through the new flower bed and, when it was almost dark, she leaned over to next door and cut off all the grass heads. :rotfl:

I think this is the last day we shall own our old garden. By tomorrow, all we shall have is a couple of square metres of concrete & a variegated weigela, and that's reverting to green! ......But we will be £20k richer. :D

    Fingers crossed for completion Davesnave.

Well, its not raining, after 72 hours non-stop. Just unloaded the car from Sunday, been tackling the beds with a brushcutter :o and come in for a cooldown. Off to pick up last of auction goodies (term used loosely!) then I must list lots on the Bay to get the cash coming in

CTC, it's a bit daft that yesterdays prices shot up when demand still seems so weak. But there are still some bargains to be had, on Monday sold a sleeper enamel pot for £75 that I picked up last week. I think I've been to most of the local auctions but if you know of any I dont......:D

No ransom strip. We are selling it to the buyers of our old house, for £1.....but that's later, for technical reasons which I won't go into here. :)

Yes. I lost vision in an eye the night nefore last, it came back quickly but obviously needs to be looked at. Yesterdayu afternoon snowballed a bit (partly because i am lateophobic and partly because not a good idea to drive if your vision is in question!) my eye seems perfect ly fine though.

I neeed to do a dhicken food run today. They are eating like fiends atm.

Don't leave the eye too long before getting checked over, LIR.

For those dealing with planning applications I thought I'd best post this :(
