And its siblings? Rabbits aint fussy. They will do it with their sister, or mother,or whatever.0 -
What we mean, Lotus, is that, unless someone has kidnapped it from the nest & brought it to your area, it won't be alone. There will be others. It's just that you haven't seen them or you've seen more than one. It's very hard to tell one wild rabbit from another.
The odds are that somewhere near you is/has been a nest.
Just be prepared is all we're saying. In one breeding season a female can produce 800 newborns when you count her own children, the grandchildren etc.0 -

Just be prepared is all we're saying. In one breeding season a female can produce 800 newbornsbut I'm quite experienced with wild rabbits. I know where all the local warrens are as well. None anywhere near our gardens. And I know roughly where this ones is, although I haven't bothered finding it as it's full of nettles atm.
This one is alone atm and it's definitely the same one, me and my neighbours fully agree.
I found quite a good plan for a live trap, it has a much better chance of catching it than me shooting it I think. It never stops for very long.

it would feel a bit wrong. And it won't have much meat on it.
Anyway, this is all conjecture. I've got to catch it first :rotfl:
Yesterday, me and my DS saw what I think is my first wild black rabbit as well. Maybe I saw one when I was a teenager, I'm not sure.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
