Was at Andrew's sale on Sat and thought I might put in a bid for about 10 welsh blankets, then realised they were all individual lots. Havent seen any vintage linen bargains at auction for months, though I sold remnants at a recent auction at a very good price. But did pick up some cheap lots on Saturday that have sleepers I think, if we've got the retro id right
Could you pm me your ebay name pls?0 -

I was wondering when you are using weedkiller in the garden. and the wind is 'blowing' in the right direction;), well you cant control where the weedkiller goes then can you:D
I don't think I will be wielding any weedkiller in DW's new border or over the beech hedge any time soon; it's almost the only bit of 'finished' garden we have out at the back!
By next year the young hedge will be making a real difference, and if things don't change, it will just keep growing, instead of being pruned to 5'!
I think veg are moving pretty slowly outdoors, but the weeds don't seem similarly affected. Picked the first mange-tout peas yesterday...all 3 of them!0 -

Such is life, I'm afraid.
It's one permanent battle against Nature. If we're lucky we win but often Nature has a way of saying "So you humans think you can control me? Well, think again!"
Noisy night here last night. There must be quite a few trees down around & about because both main roads were closed within a few miles of here.
Tomorrow is meant to be not too bad so it will back out there .......strimming, mowing, weeding, cleaning ponds ........before the next low comes swooping in on Tuesday. :rotfl:
Just showers forecast for Tuesday & Wednesday but that still brings a halt to proceedings because all that happens is the grass gets ripped out by the roots when it's wet.
7 days of rain after that but currently the next re-run of "The Battle With The Land" is due on 5th July.
Hands up who knows how the hamster feels on its' treadwheel? :rotfl:0 -

I GET IT FOR ABOUT 8-9 £ A SACK AND OFTEN IN SCATS THEY HAVE 3 FOR ie £20
its got to be the peat feel one NOT the pellets... and it just has to cover the soil not thickly...
i persuaded my mum to do her roses and they are fantastic this year [she was gonna dig em out  ]0 -

My hand is up!
....But I got all the shorter grass cut at the back today.
I'm supposed to be doing the village graveyard on Tuesday, but if your forecast stands, I may have to do something here instead.0 -
