LIR.... FIRSTLY HAVE YOU HAD ANY OCCURENCES OF TRIPPING THE ELECTRICS ANYWHERE IN/OUT/ON THE PROPERTY?
i ask because i had problems with my pump.. i found a tiny break in the cable TO it. it was shorting in certain weather conditions. i mended it and its not done it since. [i will add an electrician spent an hour trying unsuccesfully to track source of tripping !!]
just dont forget to turn off power before you check cable [if you can see/get to it??]
CTC... why not try some of your vintage things as a "buy it now" once you know an average price your getting for things? makes your listings almost "shop" like...??0 -
Alfie.... yes i could do, but with a free website you only pay the p.a.y.p.a.l. fees, not the fleabay ones;)
Really need to get one or two things listed, so not to lose the momentum...and to try and build up a following, so to speak...plus the most important thing.. get some pennies in...
talking of pennies.. doing really well with the swagbucks.... on my way to another Amazon voucher:T, had quite a few now...once you get the hang of it, its pretty good, pitty they didnt sell pig arks on there:rotfl:
Well the weather turned out hot yesturday:T, but it was:mad: to work in, especially when everything comes at once...
I love geese:j they are so wonderfull, we have decided when we are up the new place, we will try and breed them, everyone seems to be concentrating on chickens etc.... but have you seen the price that adult geese bring at auction:eek:
Alfie.. on average how many eggs do the tolous geese lay in a year? and are they good bonkers or are they a bit shy like turkeys when it comes to 'loooooooove':rotfl:
LIR hope you get your pump sorted....and it is only something small to repair....
Davesnave you were really lucky your tyre went close to home, but i should imagine it is not what you wanted to buye a new tyre......
the propshaft ( i think it was that) went on one of the vans cost us over 2k:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: not what the business needed right now:oWork to live= not live to work0 -
Itsme, thanks for trying, I got stuck in the same place.
CTC, steady and often with the listings if you can.
Alf, bubblewrap?. Try Tesco and Asda fresh fruit aisles (ask before you take it if you want to be polite!) I'm told that local china shops may have the occasional throw out. But as we pack an awful lot of fragile stuff, we get 100M x 500mm rolls for £9.95 delivered.
Been up early packing stuff, will post soon then be off shortly for overnight break/auction.0 -
Everyone else hard at work? I have had a day pff worrying. Feels GrEaT.
Meanwhile have been looking at all the options for advertising out there.
Anyone hear of any native hedgeing, preferably hazle this time (dh would also like some cobnuts) coming up in autumn at a good price please let me know! I need about 160 ms worth in all. Also wild roses, but i think i have enough of them i can resite from here. (btw , you are not allowed to move true dog roses i believe) a few mature hazels would be welcome though, for a barbed wire stretch just a gates width that is our neighbours and i need to protect the horses from it and close the gap, and losing it to t'other side of a hedge seems best option!
Holly doesn't like to be moved, but i have been offered a nice low but very bushy one if i dig it up......worth the attempt?0 -
evening all....
i have had a fabulous day...:j:j
"ruby tubey" has had the headcollar on today and for the first time in a year +, i have cuddled, stroked, scratched and fussed her :T:T
this hoss whispering lark is amazing [if you find a gooden !;) ] i can do nothing but sing this womans praises...she is SO in tune with horses.... she has been so patient and ruby adores her.
i am so excited ! she is coming back tomorow to do again and to start lifting her feet. she is going to lightly trim her feet as ruby trusts her. she does all her own horses and they are in superb condition. ive asked if she can continue with her and tell me the bits in between to do. i intend to go western saddle. be better for me with my back !:D ive also lined up her beautifull black arab stallion as a potential suitor next year...;)
as you may have grasped by now im a tad :j:j
rhiwi...i think it was choille re bubble wrap....its allright ,its an age thing..;) :rotfl:
LIR... am i right in thinking it was you that mentioned DH and flamingoes ????0 -

Yes, but not the sort of work I enjoy.
My day off was yesterday
I ought to be grateful it wasn't our prop shaft that went, because at £2k to replace, we'd have to eBay the van!
As it was, I had lots of fun getting the wheel off, with my car jack just about managing the lifting. Anyway, it was a Stanley knife blade, or part of one, which did the damage. Luckily, my tyre man drives the same van & he'd just bought two for himself, so that took care of the ordering. Tyres can take 3 days here if you're fussy about brand.
Then, after replacing a stop light on the car, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and fix the brushcutter. That didn't take long, because on opening the parts I'd ordered, I was one stud short. A phone call to East Anglia revealed it was still sitting there, despite being ticked by the packers.
That just left the punctured monster mower, so I decided I'd try to take a wheel off that.....Out came the car jack again and 90 minutes later, it was finally free. I think that mower's about 10 years old and it's been stored nearly all of that time, so things like wheels that ought to come off easily, don't.
So, bit of a mechanical day.....until tonight, when DW suddenly realised there was cheeping coming from the broody coop! So far, we just have the one black chick, but by tomorrow, who knows? :j0 -
Yes you can move holly. One of ours sat there for a whole year before we replanted it. OK it was taken out with a digger, and it wasn't happy, but so long as you retain the root ball in a similar way, it'll be fine.
Ours is romping away now.0 -
Great! Will head over with a fork.0

LIR - sorry about Ole girl. You always know when they've had enough - they tell you with their eyes & it's as well running through scenarios before it happens so you know what to do.
I once had to run a distance to get someone come to shoot my dog - not an easy decision, but the only one that was kind at that time & in that place.......
Well went over by for the week shop only to discover we had run down to the canvas on one tyre so ....was a small shop.
Quiche for the next couple of days & then a rout about in the bowels of the freezer me thinks. Great the salad stuff is all thriving, if nuffink else is.
Found me missing sold stuff but went to pack up a jacket & noticed that there was a mark down one sleeve & couldn't send it that way - rubbed it & made it muuuuuuuch worse (as you do) & it's dry clean only....yeh, yesterday was one of those sodding days when to stay in bed would of been so much more productive & a darn sight cheaper. So when over East hunted down a dry cleaners - I've never used one in thirty years!
They send stuff off so it'll be a week & & & is that what they now charge??????
Went to local PO & I sat outside & got grilled by an ole guy about how long it's taking us to build our house & were we doing it to get out of Council Tax, etc etc, etc - I said doing it as & when we have funds but he went on & on & on & on & On & on.
It's a crime being poor & is necessary to have your nose rubbed in it everytime you venture forth sometimes.
I've been invited to the launch of an anthology I'm in......but it's in Bristol..................0
