:rotfl: Love it, CTC.
Shame it's true.
Raining even more heavily here now but not quite as windy as last night. Yes, it is chilly, isn't it? We're not putting any heating on but we're back in multiple layers including a thick woolly top.
I will make no attempt to be busy today as there's absolutely nothing we can do (& there's nothing quite so tiring as trying to look busy, is there?) so I'll curl up on the settee & watch Le Mans.
Yes, for all 24 hours if I can keep the eyes open :rotfl:0 -

Basically if its free and it will burn, we will burn it, unless it has paint on it..
Hubby and I were talking about this the other night, about starting to get our winter wood sorted, before the Autumn when people start looking out for the free wood etc...
We are lucky in a way as we can store some in work..( need to sort out more space, so we can store more inside)
No give in the weather, does anyone know how long they have given this awfull weather?
We have all that leylandi but don't wanrt to risk too much of it in the dodgy woodburner0 -
im not sure if iv mentioned before but the "estate" here are having adventure roughing it weekends for kids in the woods. i was assured they were not gonna be near me .....they are
whilst i aplaud kids getting fresh air i do not want them on my doorstep.:o
i heard noises and bimble was going bollistic ! so i went out to my back fence and they are setting up camp 75 metres away. i walked over and was met by a leader girl [looked no more than 18] who just said yes they were camping there... they were building a BIG tent type bender from wood poles. i asked if they were chopping down wood to do it ? as the area was very "cleared" she said it was all just lying around after the winds ??? very nice straight poles of wood fell downi dont want to see the lovely wood decimated !!
i dont want to ruin their weekends BUT judging by the "sword play" with 8ft poles and the language im not impressed. if they come my way i hope bimble "says hello"...;)
now tell my if im a miserable old grump or being reasonable.....0 -

i must admit im more concerned with the wood being destroyed and also them wandering over and seeing my owl / cubs etc which are seeable from that end but no other thats why i put the enclosures where they are !! [tempting them to open doors, im gonna have to get some padlocks today]
also my tool sheds etc. bad to label them but believe you me they were wilder than the normal woodland critters...:o0 -

I blame you lot. Cats are happy, lolling in front of the burner.0 -
Google translates pretty well
I usually take a ride on the city's flea markets when there is time, today was a bargain at the Red Cross.
A winter coat in good condition, faultless with all the buttons, a few small spots and little dirty. Manufacturers OSB, several stamps, three crowns, F9, two and a square with something that looks like a date, 1944.
It is quite long, the shoulder straps but lacks slejfarna bottom of the arms.
The price then? Since they have the sale of clothing right now so it stopped at affordable 50kr: D, today's bargains.
and yeah, it says it's Swedish. Looks like you have some kind of soldiers winter kit.
Just done a bit more digging, as it's interesting, it's a Swedish jacket for sure. maybe from the 1940's. No idea what it's worth though. Put it on ebay and find outFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
WOW...... Lotus you are a sweetheart:T
I thought sweden didnt have an army because they didnt go to war, or was that switzerland?
so basically swedish military wear poss 1940's
whats 50kr in pounds?
would love to be able to find out how much they go for on ebay in sweden, but i wouldnt understand the listings:rotfl:
so do you think something like this would be rare in the uk? just want to get some facts before i list itWork to live= not live to work0
