We wanted open fires through out and i have learnt my lesson with reclaimed woodburners, but i am thinking of a wood burner for the new study. I would love to find a little stove with an oven but think thats unlikely, its not a huge space.
glittery_goldfish on the bay......like this ????0 -
I like our woodburner, which must be fairly old. The folk who were here before us wouldn't have bought new.
I've just lit it, although it's not cold where I'm sitting!
We had a delivery of logs today, but it was early in the morning and I didn't see them throwing them into the woodshed. Round here, we just pay for stuff when it's convenient. They probably thought I was short of cash and hiding! :rotfl:
My eBay item ends in under an hour. It's messing-up dinner....0 -

Be warned - a) it smells & b) you usually have to have spotlessly clean surfaces for it to work properly.lostinrates wrote: »I cannot tell you how much i hate our woodburner.
:rotfl: I'm no great lover of them either.lostinrates wrote: »I did manage to light it in the end and in fair ness to it, we have warmed up now, but i still cannot wait to rip it out and have a real fire back.lostinrates wrote: »Hmmmmm, i might google for some images. Sounds intriguing!:)
Iimagine a chimney breast with a fire set under an oven. The finer points depend upon what age/style you want to achieve.
Modern ones often have glass - like Clementi stoves/ovens.
More traditional ones often have cast iron doors - like bread ovens.0 -

I love them! The old sort most, but i think dh might prefer the modern sort of door to see the flames. That is a really good idea.....i will have to find out what the financial comparison is like.
I feel like simply red all the time atm, money's too tight to mention.0 -
