i was merrily hacking off the top, watching the bees with one eye and the electric trimmer with the other....reaching,as you do, to get "that bit stuck up that wont play ball " i leant over a bit more and .....yep! ladder went one way, trimmer another and me ......i would have won BRITAINS GOT TALENT with my aerobatic display :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
what P'd me off most was i landed on my 2nd batch of runner beans.....

i have a dilema....a long standing male friend [only] has a new girlfriend.
my cousin [artist, auther]from canada has always stayed at his cottage, she comes over twice a year for years. hes at work most days.
his new GF decided to move in with him 3 days before cousins arrival....
cousin arrives to be met by frosty GF..[she knew C was coming]
C goes to bed early [jet lag] to be woken an hour later with GF screaming she didnt want C there to my friend who tried to calm her...
    C was VERY HUMILIATED....
c has gone to spain for a week and i have organised a different cottage for her to stay..
now it seems GF has said on par re me....
now i think friend should grow a pair but as GF is also pregs.....
i do not like GF and theres not many people i actually dislike intensely...
how do i keep contact with friend if GF wont allow... do i just cut ties ?
have known each other nearly 30 years. ..............very sad...:(

p.s. if it DOES kick off i dont want to lose my rag and fall out with friend who is stuck in the middle ...BUT if she says anything to my face i will certainly "not be a wallflower" ;)

    Very sad.
I bet your cousin wanted the floor to open up & swallow her. :(

I don't think there's anything you, personally, can do.
It's times like this when you find out which are the true friends, alfie.
If he's a real mate he'll keep in touch.

Alf, thank goodness you didnt reflex grab the hedge trimmer.

Maybe new GF feels insecure/threatened and is used to getting her own way (spoiled). Let time takes its course, he's now in the middle, no doubt wanting to keep up his old friendships but not wanting to upset his new GF.

Well, children surprised us by having a plaque fixed to the local pier to mark our ruby wedding anniversary "Why are we walking on the pier in the rain??!!" followed by cream tea. Then DD2 and SIL had a day away while we (mainly DW) looked after our two GSs. Nappies, bottles, broken sleep....thats a routine for young parents :D

Glad you are still with us, and good wishes to your derriere this morning, alfie. :D

Congrats on the big wedding anniversary too, rhiwfield. love-smiley-028.gifWhat a lovely way to mark it! party-smiley-006.gif

Old computer has finally gone west, so I am just about up and running on the new one, but there's no picture software yet, so no photo of last night's celebrations up at our local beacon. :o

There was a hell of a 'beacon' on Sunday night several miles away. Through binoculars, they certainly didn't look like normal flames, but morning revealed that it was not the barns at the same locality on fire. Methinks they took the opportunity to get rid of something.....tyres perhaps.:(

I went to a beacon lightin g, couldn't see many others. A bit disappoointed really as I was kinda looking forward to something similiar to the ones in the Lord of the Rings! I know it was special effects, a girl can dream.
