Agree Davesnave we need this rain......BUT...... i am dreading he aftermath of everything growing like made before your eyes:eek: ( and mean weeds here...lol...)

Well i am still itching, the calamine lotion eases it for a bit, but the bites just keep flaring up again..and i dont normally suffer with things biting me, or if they do, it only lasts a day or so, not a week:o....sooooooo going to bath a bath in bicarb, and scout around for anything else i can use...

Alfie what was the name of that stuff again? I might get some of that stuff, and keep it on standby...

Maggie lovely pic.....what was the crowds like? I hate places that are over crowded , thats why i dont want to go to the royal welsh show in July... justs takes the total pleasure out of it...

Wouldnt mind going to another agri show with the caravan, and stay for a few days, but one that isnt hectic... and i can mooch around and totally injoy... ( a bit like the smallholders show, but without being a trade stall holder..lol...)

YES YES YES..... ive found the perfect "stuff" :D

its called LILY OF THE DESERT 99% ALOE VERA GELLY distributed in uk by WISDOM OF NATURE LTD.
i got it from my local herbal/health shop [not cheap ...was £6 ,i paid £3 in sale.]
i get a bad reaction to bites and this is the 1st time ive had a "cure"...the itch/annoyance goes instantly...:D

Think to save all the faffing round trying to look for it locally, i will have a look on fleabay...

I'm itching like an itchy thing:cool::D

Still got the dreg ends of the cold, so maybe its because i am a bit run down that i am still getting a reaction.

Still raining here, but it has got lighter now....

so s@d all done today except mooch around ebay for some potential money saving items, furniture etc for the new place...

I transplanted my srout seedlings a while ago into trays etc ( to give them more room to grow etc) so now that htey have really grown on nicely, might transplant them into the 9 module pots/trays ready for selling on.... will have to do it with my marigolds too....

Think we have re-homed Ozzie!
DW was contacted by an Australorp enthusiast on-line some time ago as the result of an ad. We e-mailed him today and he's not yet replaced the cockerel he had which died, and he needs another for a breeding programme. Job done!:D

Meanwhile, we have dipped in & out of the celebrations, heard the 60 gun salute from the church tower, missed the VIP speech and met with the vicar who's doing our daughter's wedding next month.

Next, I'll be off to get my eBay mower, which means I may miss 4 hours of country dancing...:j:T

4hours!?! On second thoughts, probably not a mis-print, as it would take at least that long to negate the effects of the lunch time spread, which was mainly pasties, pies, sausages and cream cakes....oh and Coronation chicken! :rotfl:

Davesnave can i pick your brains please:D

We have been looking for an old living room fire with a back boiler, but nothing, only fires..

sooooooooo we thought we would buy a cast iron wood burner and put in inside of the greenhouse, in th corner as you enter, and put a steel plate in the roof section above the burner for the pipe to go through... do you think this would be ok? its only to heat the greenhouse for early seeds, etc...

After the initial cost of setting it up, it should be alot cheaper to run than a gas/electric heater

It might be cheaper when it's running, but it will need regular attention, whereas electric heaters don't, nor do they run when they're not needed.

If the fire is putting out heat when it's not required, this is wasteful and it will also require great care with ventilation. You'll need some of that anyway as it's an open flame.

For seeds/cuttings etc, I used to have a sand bed inside a wooden framework, heavily insulated with polystyrene. Above that was a structure like an aquarium, made from old double glazing. The top & front was covered with polythene. With a thermostat on a 40 watt warming cable, I didn't reckon that cost much to run. Had about 1/4 tonne of sand in it!

I only ever 'heated' half of my old greenhouse with a fan heater calibrated to come on at zero degrees. I never had it set above level 2, which was 1500 watts.

Just being devil's advocate here. I have nil experience with stove heating in a greenhouse. :o

Got my mower. It's bloomin' HUGE!

Yes, we watch the drill riding, because its si ething i love doing myself, the only draw back of not being part of a large school of riders really is no one to ride school formations with....but i do not lust for the horses. I know what i want, even the one i want, but trying to find a budget version, the one i want is about 30k, so needless to say i will not be having it!:rotfl:
