What do we all make of MSE selling out to Moneysupermarket.com?
It makes me a little uncomfortable. It would be a shame to disappear & leave friends behind but I'm not a happy bunny.
My one experience of Moneysupermarket, where they passed on my details to half the world (must have left a privacy box unchecked) and then quoted me a totally uncompetitive rate, makes me share your unease0 -

We had one of that sort for a few years. He upset nearly everyone in the 7 or so parishes he 'shepherded'. Ex-Met Police, didn't believe in asking Lottery for any help toward building upkeep etc. The local churches nigh on fell apart before he left for pastures new & the new bod arrived who had a more realistic attitude.
Between the various organisations (Church, Councils, NP etc.) who are meant to have the good of the community at heart, they actually seem to do their utmost to make life as hard as possible for their people

Same here, rhiw. I guess we can all expect the spam count to go up considerably. Unfortunately, there isn't even a way of deleting our details but it's probably too late now, anyway.
I would like to have been offered an opt out before my details were passed on.0 -
I'm very sad about the sale of MSE, but nothing stays the same for ever, no matter how much I want it to.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

nor did i .......ok so who knows how to set up a private thingy just for us lot to keep in touch ?????0

Talking of spam.
If anyone has just got a Buy It Direct Newsletter in their Inbox...... it's started. Although I think that may be from where I have bought PC stuff.
As I said before, we could use Skype. For those who use FB there's that, too, but I'm no lover of FB either.
If anyone else has their own domain name (I do but if I set up a forum it could only last until I sell the place - the domain name will go with the property) then they can set up a Private Forum.
Anyone else got their own domain?0 -
De-lurks to say that you could set up a private group on FB - they are really good fun. Back to lurkingNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

I don't do FB and I'm never going to.

Me neither. I will not be seeing anyone on any time soon if th at is the plan, Sorry.:o
I have a domain name or two, but they are personally identifying and relate to business, not sure how i feel about using those tbh.
I would be prepared to buy one, they are not dear, or we could use the other one i suggested or skype.
I would miss the ability of others to join us via mse, new dreamers are welcome, but i would dread the time sucked out dealing with junk if we were an open forum.0
