That's good Alfie - really pleased.

Spent the afternoon at 2 land hearings that brought up a lot of issues mainly ones of disease control & containment - ie double fencing, places that new animals can be kept before mixing with others etc. Got really heated & quite unfortunate from some - interesting just sitting & listening though. Where you have land you have neighbour fall outs I guess. Not that these hearings affected me I just find Scottish crofting law fascinating if pretty obscure & complex at times - first day when it didn't chuck it down & I was stuck indoors until dark.........
  • We've got tadpoles. Only a few & very small but they're there. Frogs are still going at it hammer & tongs & so there's plenty of spawn &...... the toads have arrived. No toad spawn yet but it shouldn't be long. The newts were all scuttling around on the bottom, coming up for a quick breather before diving again.

DH didn't have to get the waders on (I decided discretion was the better part of valour & didn't comment on the look of relief on his face ;) ) as there wasn't too much to do except around the edges.

I'm suffering from Spring Back. Don't you just hate it when you start the year's bending & your spine reminds you that you're another year older & you've just spent a winter not having to work doubled up? :rotfl:

I have come to the conclusion that all planting, weeding, tidying should be done at waist level.
Paths should all be sunk by 3ft+ so one can stand on the path & work upright :D

Tomorrow I hope to be out on the gravel picking up all those blinkin' little sticks that ash trees deposit everywhere

So it will be "Return of Spring Back - Curse the Ash" playing here tomorrow :rotfl:

has anyone tried 3 day fleabay listings? I really do need to try and get as much wonga as possible...I dont think i have ever done 3 day listings, but i like my auctions to end on a sunday evening... or am i better off doing buy it nows and seeing if things sell? the only thing i dont like about BIN is that you are then covered by the long distance selling regulations, and people can send them back for a refund, for no reason....

alfie, you need to have your own reality TV show :rotfl:

OH reports lots of frog activity on the road to the wildlife park. We have a mini pond at the bunglaow. I was planning to rid us of it immediately as I have a death anxiety about small children and ponds, so I hope there's nothing in there alive as I'll be covering it otherwise :o

Started running again this week but it's definately not a weight loss thing as it makes me eat even more than I already do...

CTC, OH says I have early onset alzheimer's. I like to blame it on my constant lack of sleep due to still sleeping with and breastfeeding twins...

When I was a kid, I remember the farmers coming into the shop on market day, with their holey clothes, shirts without collars and trousers tied up with baler twine. I was only saying to DW last weekend, as she tut-tutted over the state of my washing, that, suddenly, I seem to have become the modern equivalent. :o

We repatriated the two coc kerels yesterday, who are now living in a run with about 12 others. They'll go out into a field with alpacas later, but I bet they're already missing their grass. :(

The architect was very thorough with his measurements and surprisingly up-beat about the prospect of adding a storey, at least over one end. He & his DW assistant were here 6 hours and barely stopped, so that was encouraging too. :)

Digger man comes tomorrow to sort out some more landscaping and replanting of trees etc. We wanted him for 2 days, but his dumper is elsewhere, so he'll have to return in a few weeks with both.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Mine was in the phone this morning, furious that the removal of the wall is taking so long. He is coming on monday to have a look.

It did seem to take some time.

I mean, a few Acrow props & lengths of 8x3, bish, bash, bosh & the job's a good 'un, I'd have thought! action-smiley-064.gif:D

I can reliably report that you can get past that stage :D ...... except the eyesight & the lavender - but I always loved lavender so that may just be a 'me' thing ;)

Well, we did a bit more tidying today but didn't really have our hearts in it. It's sunny but not as warm as yesterday & there's something that's whispering "If you think you've finished with winter then you've another think coming". :(
So, we've confined ourselves to only doing things that another bout of frost, ice or even snow won't make a waste of time.

Oh, & I forgot, a Happy St David's Day to our Welsh contingent
