Yes, course, they'll be spurs - shows how much I know about horsey stuff.
I was told by someone that it's Spanish probably. Only found the one. It's bronze apart from the actual spur wheel - which is iron I think.
Here was i trying to work out how the leather would gp through the wheel! :rotfl:0 -
Just caught up.
Love the picture, choille. Our fat cat would eat the chick. Strangely, our slim one has become much more tolerant of birds and might not, if she thought we 'owned' it.....and were watching of course!
We were out all day yesterday at our old nursery garden, severing the water and electricity supply lines to it. Sounds straightforward enough, but first we had to find them, and in our old house garden, where the cutting-off had to be done, trees, bushes and weeds have been growing ......:(
Anyway, much digging and swearing later (me, not DW:o), we'd achieved our objective. However, lots of chatting followed and someone wanted to fill our van with bags of sawdust & logs, so it was well gone 10pm when we arrived home.
Computer is definitely almost dead. Had to go into setup & fiddle for 20 mins to fire it up today! :mad:0 -
hiya all.......
mystery of the bees may be solved !!
apparently ,according to my postie, there is a £2m house up the road that has a big posh beehive in the garden by thier lake..... and NO bees :rotfl::rotfl:
moral of the story....money doesnt bee you everything....:D
postie is sworn to secrecy for now...if they are useless at keeping em then i will let nature take its course.;)
my cat has discovered that if she lays on part of the window sill upstairs ,she has "under floor heating"...:rotfl: it is seriously warm/hot from em all underneath ....

] a vast amount of ornamental clay etc pots for the garden . 2 trailer loads. AND I WANT TO ARRANGE AND PLANT THEM ...NOT EAT BURNT/RAW SAUSAGES AND MANKY BURGERS...

I suspect that all the activity round your windowsill might just give the game away at some point.
We managed to catch all our lot. One queen is a little beauty; when I described the excellent state of the hive she left behind, a rather more experienced keeper suggested that he might set up a bait hive near her current lodgings and bee-nap her. Not going to let him. I want to breed from her.

I suspect that the colony left the hive before the time you had your first visit from the bees. They will have pitched up somewhere in the £2m garden and sent out scouts. Your void got the largest vote based on the number of bees coming to check it out. Once concensus was achieved, they set up residence. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Evening, not been much happening here to report as the weather has been dreadful and the seeds I planted have done next to nothing as it has been too cold in the greenhouse. Think I am going to plant up some more over the weekend.
Sorry to hear about the various business, building, social dilemmas people have been facing. Seems as if we all have a lot going on at the moment and mutual support is always goodTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Did you go to the BBQ, alfie?
I told DH I was thinking of going to see an old flame& watched as time froze ......... until he worked out what I meant :rotfl:
Very little going on here.
I have heard a vicious rumour that next week the temperatures in the South East will be in the 20s but over this side we'll have to wait until the following weekend.
I've waited months ........ another 10 days is nothing:cool:

It has been warm in parts of the country but we've worked out the last real summer we had around these parts was about 2007! We've had the odd day or 2 & then lost it again.
I never complain I'm too hot during sunny days at home.
I can always come inside where the thick walls (about 2'6"-3') keep the temperature down in the heat but up in the winter.
It can get uncomfortable at night if the sun has blazed on the roof all day but I'd rather dispense with bedding than be laying in bed summoning up the courage to dash to the loo cos it's bl**dy cold
The only type of heat I don't like is when it gets airless. That seldom happens on the coast because 99% of the time there's a sea breeze.
How's all the work going, LIR?0 -

the "house" up the road had bees AND hive [there may be more but postie saw one] installed in thier garden....they just didnt stay !
when i originally spoke to my bee keeper man he thought that there was too many bees for one hive and that it was the equivilant of 3 average hives that i have here.
maybe whoever got paid silly money to "set it up" for them and just took the dosh and ran
it wouldnt surprise me as there is a breed of people around here with more money than sense....ME? iv got more sense than money....:rotfl::rotfl:
YES i went to BBQ.......
i sold the louboutin shoes for £160.... who pays that ????

Its not. Still have nit secured a builder! Have a xoue coming for a second look next week. Quotes are around 100 k to 150k. Definitely more than we, or the architect planned for. Seems a lot for three rooms however one looks at it. That, btw, is with a tempoarary kitchen, not a finished one.
We think its because in london even the 'good' builders have more competition than the ones out here.0
