At my usual car boot slot my adjacent booter is a member/organiser of the NVS. Gorgeous selection of plants for sale and I got a couple of leftovers that were far better than what I could grow
So feeling rather inadequate and taking a short break in Okehampton later today, finishing with a visit to the auction midweek
Taking the laptop so we can correspond with the non payers on Ebay...what a waste of time and effort
Been so busy I've just been lurking on here the past week, thoughts with all of you facing challenges.0 -

Phoned the council re- the note put through the door....panic over.. ish....
basically they approached the last owner about paying half the cost of re-newing the bridge, but they declined, and just before the property went to auction they had 2 people making inquiries about the bridge, and moving the footpath.
I told them we didnt own the bridge, and we ahve to find out if it is actually in the deeds about us maintaining the bridge...
Right off to start getting stuff ready for the smallholders show..
Rhiwie, hope you injoy your break... make sure you catch that big fish;)Work to live= not live to work0 -

If it would be to your advantage, you might be able to do a deal whereby you take on some maintenance in return for movement of the path, but as I recall, it was an old coal tramway, so it's likely to have reasonably good foundations. Anyway, moving it would be an expense you could probably do without.
Lir's naughty geese remind me of our Australorp, which being a heavy breed, shouldn't fly. She does, and with ease. One of the not-quite-Rhodies also has attitude and refuses to go to bed until we come down to lock-up. It can be almost dark and there she is, quite alone, pecking around. We say "Get inside!" and she does.0 -

Then I have to hide until she goes in again and have another go.It can be quite annoying when it's raining
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
morning folks...
glad to hear your geese only did a "chicken run" style flight LIR ...:D i am amazed at thier efforts too cos its not like they have a flat run take off !! they must have gained amazing height up to clear the bank even ..... trust em to come from me..:o
re ducks....i just walk out , call goose goggins, he answers me so i know where they are [hes the ducks "like glue" bodyguard ] and just call out BEDTIME and they troop in ..:) i always give them some feed to go to bed with so maybe its that bribe and not my animal husbandry talents ..;)
my news for the day....so far.
the other night i was a tad bored and entered EVERY competition on my local radio stations web site. cant remember what for but know there was a cruise, a spa break and a meal for 2 etc.
i had a phone call this morning with a cheery lady telling me "youve won a wave 105 competition" instantly picturing myself swanning around "on deck" i was exstatic ! then she told me what id won...." a tandem sky dive ":eek:
i sort of laughed more in sheer terror than delight.... of all the things i could win , THAT is not top of my wish list :rotfl::rotfl:
when she asked "will you be doing this yourself" i said "no, its for my SON"..... so now ive just got to tell him...:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Hahaha, thats brilliant alfie! To watch someone else sky dive is a good prize...to do it.....
Got imagine apanyof us cripples after jumping out of a plane, lol.
You know, even the dogs are achey today, both did 'sore back yelp' when we got up. It must be the weather is all i can think.
Lucielle, will probably need to wait till weekend for pics as i cannot bend over to take them, rofl.
Driven in mpby rain again today, and by the sounds of it, tomorrow too.
Will have the horses do the lawn i think in the mean time.
Did i mention we bought a pink robinia tree yesterday? Its beautiful. But no where to put it yet, probably for the year, though will get digger man to check the stumps to remove in autumn again. Now i want to get hold of a ginko, and a foxglove tree, and indian bean tree (mine had died)I am seeing potted time as a bonus, if i get them all in big pots we can move them about a bit until we are sure we have position good.
Davesnave, i am presuming the pink robinia will sucker as much as the standard sort of pseudoacasia, otherwise, maybe i should buy another? What do you think?0 -

Yes, we treated ours in exactly the same way as the chickens. Being ducks, the houses need to be more frequently thoroughly washed down, of course.0 -

Wonder what people do with floating duck houses for cleaning them, surely not haul them to shore every week?
My chickens come in early. Its really strange because befor ewe moved, and still have some of those chickens, they used to line up and watch the sun go down before trooping in. The only one who doesn't always go away early is Attila the Hen, who is blind in one eye and partially sighted in the other. She is amazing, one of the ex batts, comes running when i call her, following my voice, but in the evening, she usually sits where she is and callls me, quite calmly, until i have found her and popped her in.0 -
do you note as well, that we are all willingly at the beck and call of our animogs yet if a "human" was to make similar demands we would tell em to "DIY" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
well i do !!;)0
