Amazing! After another inch of rain overnight the sun came out this afternoon. And it was warm! Our library on the news after a tree went thru the roof on Sunday :(

So washed down inside the GH, fixed the autovents and put in the summer toms. Tomorrow its move the chooks to clear a raised bed and cut and strim the paths. April was such a miserable washout, think the gloom and cold had got to me a bit.

Really dont know whether apples will set, as the blossom has been so badly rain affected with few bees about. But the goosegogs are growing well, benefitting from the sunny March.

Had a total and expensive waste of time with Ebay today. They say Jersey is in the UK so Jersey deliveries attract standard UK postal rates, tell that to RM standard parcels. Response so far? Try to get buyer to agree to cancel transaction:eek: So sent goods to buyer instead and will try to get excess postage back off Ebay. Ignorant &+@#S!!. Cust service reps go off standard hymn sheets, even quoting wiki at them had zero effect. Ended with rep agreeing to refer up the line, if I get a rational follow up I will be amazed. Net result? I exclude CI from postage locations from now on

now thats odd cos ive sent twice to guernsey and that was just normal costs via RM ???:o i actually thought in the que that i may have got it wrong and was expecting to pay more due to my incompetence....but no it was normal...
i would complain to RM if i was you.. ive got to post tomorow so will ask nice lady in PO...;)

    p.s. i just sold the brushing boots i bought for £5 for £15 :D

    Well done on the boots!

Its just packages over 1kg to CI have to go 1st class, RM doesnt do standard parcels. Try it on RM price finder.

And i never said congats on the cig machines.

Well it's been hot here today, too hot to do much! But we have snow forecast again for the weekend!

Shifted some more trees & 'found' some wonderful leaf mould in the bottom of some hen runs so collected a barrow load of that for extended shrubbery bed. Had a fire with twigs & that was too hot but just idled really watching the birds & all the wee garden birds collecting feathers...

Glad to see you are feeling more positive about the garden now rhiwfield. :)

Must admit my commitment varies, mainly because for much of this place it's still a waiting game. For example, we have about 1/4 acre of 'empty' soil here now, but it's not really empty, because the rain has brought up the couch grass still lurking below the surface. Now we could plant into that, but if we did it would be there for ever, so it's a case of wait and then kill, a couple of times over. We've dug out what we can, so as these are not food producing areas, it will be Mr Dow's job to deal with it. :(

It's the same out at the front. There will be major changes there, and huge piles of rubble, skips etc, so no chance to sort that either ATM.

We were at the architect's office for almost 2 hours yesterday thrashing out the final details of our preferred design for the house refurb. Now we have it, the chances are that it won't happen in full, due to the costs. I don't think these are unreasonable, but we just don't have the dosh. :o We shall put in for planning on the full monty anyway, and there's still the possibility of adding later if we should ever have the money/ mad desire to do it, so it's not a complete waste of time. :)

    good morning peeps.....

well i posted my parcel and asked re CI postage... ended up the whole que joining in...:rotfl::rotfl:

apparently CI is part of the UK but NOT the british isles [think thats the right way round..:o ].. postage over 1k is classed as parcel so royal mail butts out as only under that weight is covered....:( i did say that i think they should make that clear on thier booklet of prices ?? the que joined in at this stage ...:rotfl::rotfl: most did not know that CI was out of parcel zone...
good job i know /have a laugh with counter lady !!

i will add rhiwi that i got caught too...:( i quoted £3 postage for B boots and was JUST over weight and cost me £5.60 ...
my fault i didnt weigh them packed !!:o hey ho i still made good on the deal.:)

ive had a big clear up of cr*p, sorry eclectic bargains from sills/shelves in my hall [after my sons comments ;)] and have filled a crate... so will start to sell with a vengance before i change my mind !!:D

still sunny here, no rain as yet, workmen fixing hole in road :), boiler packed up, man coming at 12.30 to fix it, airport run this afternoon, son nicking my van to move his stuff, washing machine on [having to add hot water by kettle ! ] dog not ate anything he shouldnt today, :D and im looking at the hoover like its an alien !!:rotfl::rotfl:

    I need some advice.

Because all my chooks lay different eggs, I've noticed that one of the hybrids hasn't laid for maybe 5 days.
She's been laying for a few weeks now.

She looks all right, I haven't caught her yet as she's the difficult one to catch and it would cause maybe unnecessary stress.

    Am I worrying about nothing?

Mine are off lay a bit too, i have put it down to the weather. I would have a feel of her at night, because i don't chase if there is a way not too, and darkness is that way!
