LIR or Alfie do either of you need a bridle? I have one I will never use again, it fitted my 16.2HH Throughbred, brown leather. I'm sure I have a few bits as well. Oh and travel bandages and other horsey oddments that are just gathering dust.
thats really kindbut my minis are 30" tall and a bridle that size would be more likely to fit as full harness....:rotfl::rotfl:
i so miss my Barney, my retired TB..:(
i bet you miss riding0 -
lol...
what about Mrs harley-smithnorton :rotfl:
well it isnt raining sun seems to be out, ( for a minute) still cold though...
bought myself some more treats last night on Amazon...:D
a cd by my favourite band... tyketto, they have re-formed and realeased a new album yesturday, and its being delivered
to
also bought a pig book, called pigs for the freezer... and anothr book called low cost living... I might pick up something use full, but i am pretty savvy, I just fall off the wagon ( like i did yesturday with buying some treats..lol..) but at least i dont spend nowhere near as much as i used to on stupid carp things that i dont need:rotfl:
Going to take some eggs into work to see if they will sell there... thinking of £1 for 6 does that sound ok?
havent sold eggs in years, i have allways ended up giving them away... but i need to start getting my money head on with them...plus i have a load, and i am starting to get fed up of eggs now_pale_Work to live= not live to work0 -
I think £1 for 6 is fine. After all, it's what we charge!
I didn't get what lir said the other day about our 'non-standard' sign that says "Real Free Range Eggs," so maybe she could tell me? I'll not be changing it any time soon, mind, as I think our hens are in conditions most people imagine when they think "Free range..."
...unlike some!
Glad you found some pineapple mint too, as ours has definitely gone. I blame vine weevils. We seem to have a few other kinds, but it's the good old stuff that was here originally, crawling around under the geomembrane of our wonderful gravel patio (!) which does best and makes it into the pot with the spuds.
Lovely morning. Digging or concrete? Bit of both, maybe.0 -
Ctc, do you still plan to do vintage fairs in shepton mallett or bristol? I am wondering whether we can arrange a pick up place for me to buy some pork from you. If its not low food miles i would rather it was from chums who i think will put animal welfare high on their agenda. And pigs love to clear ground!
I am fine for bits etc (i tend to refer unjointed bits, so if anyone finds them i might be interested in buying, particularly snaffles and even more so if they have a gold coloured metal in the middle....copper or one of the modern equivalents. The bit i have never found cheaply but would love is a six inch warm metal unjointed hanging / baucher snaffle. I would like one of them in five and a half too. You can get them but they are not cheap!0 -

Edit: btw, my housoing is huge and the hens adore it better than any traditional housing, it was the milking parlour, so there are lots of places to hide and go, and most of them roost up, but those that cannot or choose not to, sit at the edge of the well, so they can pretend they are roosting up0 -

Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.
TBH, I know we're not the only ones around here doing this, and everything's pretty relaxed in this area, but of course if we are tackled, we know nothing!
Anyway, "Yummy Yolks From Cheerful Cluckers" won't fit on the sign very well! :rotfl:0 -

Chances are davesnave, with your set up, if challenged about roam area and space per bird you might well comply, worth checking out perhaps, not for sign, but for own info, nice to know if challenged you can say....we comply!:D0 -
Just been put with my nippers fussing with the pears. I made some wrong cuts initially and kicked myself over it, but recently just had a wave of 'chill' wash over me, they are plants, they will sort it out, and if there are kinks and irregularities so much the better for an interesting framework, right? It seems to me when learning new skills i will make mistakes and unless i learn to roll with them it will not be very joyful experience. I am a bit of a perfectionist, and it makes life hard, because even though i like to do thngs perfectly who wants to live with boring perfect? Noone can get thiongs right all the time, and if you let it perfection can stunt ones endeavours terribly. Perfection is fine if you can afford to pay people who have acquired perfection skills, but those of us learning need to make mistakes, right?
I have some fat rose buds waiting to pop open, which is exciting, and the sunny morning has been a wonderful mood lifter. The new community police officer called after last nights events and is coming to look around so he is familiar with the place.0 -
Yes, LIR is right, Dave. I just assumed you knew but were taking a 'Debn attitude'
You also have to display a "Best Before" date. A "Best Before 3 weeks from the Date of Purchase" sign will cover the law.
The eggs must be clean but not washed.
If you take any eggs to, for example, a market to sell then you must also comply with several more laws including having a Producer Number (still free AFAIK from the Egg Marketing Inspectorate) which states what type of production you use - organic, free range etc.
Weak sunshine this morning. Yes, the swallow are here, Maybe they've been roosting up in the outbuildings waiting for the sun to appear?0 -

Lir, I cut off a fully trained side branch on my pears last year, and have had to do a crossover. Whats worse its on the roadside, so my mistake is all to apparent to any passers by
Saw your brief post last night, hope some more of the "strays" made it back.
Pruned my roses a few weeks back so no buds yet. 2 years back I interplanted chives as a natural fungicide and here's the result. This is DW's garden, outside the bay window, stepped in 4 levels (top level beech hedge, then 2 rose beds, then edging beds of bugle, with steps and paths for access. Hoping that the beech hedge will mature enough this year to improve privacy at ground floor level.
Bit more work in the garden this morning, just starting to look a bit better.0
