I am with dave on the render....fwiw ctc we have the same at the back here.....awkward render concealing beautiful brick....but our guess is there was a reason it was rendered, and it could be very expensive to find out what the reason is, si the back stays.
I recokon a sympathtic paint colour, and sone climbing roses/ clematis/ wisteria / grapes even oir what ever climber floats your boat, and your front becomes a thing of devastating charm. In the future a door change etc can work more magic. Its charming, and i think you can make it remarkably more so.0 -
we are going to put stable style doors instead of the long window and doors that are there now....
Funny enough we were talking last night about giving it a paint job, just to brighten it up a bit.

ROZEE.... i spent time in my YOOF with some travelling romanies and learnt painting [barge and wagon lining], making proper wooden pegs and wood carnations . and all my mates/family were saying "oh that will come in usefull ":o well it HAS ! teaching children simple things can all be adapted to a good skill in later life. it gives them the imagination to adapt and use whats to hand and to get pleasure from the results...
If I could give this place a spruce up & get the hens sorted out I would defo take you up on the offer. I'm too embarassed to have someone come when we are away. A couple are always offering to come but they are so neat & tidy I don't want them seeing the utter squalor we are living in............:eek:0 -

Oh Goodness I might plot that one if I sell loads of gear that I spent allW/E listing - feel jiggered today & my eyeballs frazzled. Done nowt today.
But windas are coming at Tea time so a little jiggle of stuff outside so the lorry can turn down here as the poor chap had toreverse all the way back up the track the last time he came. The guit big winda for upstairs will take four of us to lift according to OH.

Love the reply lostinrates i really would like to join. we live in a semi detached house which has a smallish garden (though big enough for me to dabble in the start of my dreams) a couple of years ago i started the veg patch, last year the fruit patch, this year i hope to have a seating area and next year hope beyond hope chickens, and some beehive compost bins, a pergola, wood fired oven a brick path & roses and ohhhh just lots and lots and lots. just starting really but it has been fun, thanks for letting me in.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404
