It's been a thoroughly miserable day here. If anyone further east is waiting for it to clear up from my direction ......... forget it. Brown water running down the lane & the animals all look like variations on the theme of "drowned rat."
The hay we took out earlier is all across the hedges like tinsel. Its very windyi, and wet, but more windy. In fact, its that horrid kind of rain that makes being outside untenable, but doesn't do much good either. Big patches of the border are dry.
We had mse chums for lunch and put the wood burner on, so are enjoying the luxury of heat and lazing the evening.0 -

We are currently having a 'pleasant interlude,' but I don't like the look of it up your way, nor trust the sudden break, so I've just brought the logs in.
Chickens have been worm hunting all day & do indeed look drowned. Australorps & RIRs will have to be chased in to their house, as usual, I expect.
I have piddled about at various things, especially potting up and checking all the stuff we bought on Saturday. I'm not at all surprised that much of the tree man's stock was riddled with vine weevil. He won't last long.
The other nursery's stuff was all clear. :A0 -

Flip i know how scary it is to have a fire so close
How far away was it LIR? what was it, grass? house?
When i got batteries for the camera i will take more pics, hubby took that one on his mobile.....
Lucielle it does look georgeous, BUT dont be decieved...it does have loads of warts at closer inspection;),
We were wonderinf if we took away the rendering etc ( pic in the first pic) would it make the front look like the back pic? hope it does, but that is a job that is def down the line of prioritiesWork to live= not live to work0 -

I think there's some appeal in having a house with two distinct aspects and the front looks OK to me. It's what people a hundred years ago thought was smarter than the finish at the back, and as it faces the prevailing weather, the render may be serving a purpose too.
Our house is two colours on the outside: mucky white and muddy cream.0
