Rained all day - incredibly heavy - water coming in the house. Really want the roof finished but that'll be a while - so been putting buckets all over the place.
It's been a good day to try and list stuff but that's gone dead, slow & stop - the planets aint aligned!8*>?' Or some such thing.

The weather was not too great here today either. It was mild yet quite wet. The forecast is for endless rain I think :(

    havent long sat down...

Our mr and mrs Rhiwfield are such wonderfull people, and it did feel as though we have known them for a long time, They also agreed and confirmed we have ALOT of work ahead of us:eek::D.

I must admit i did feel a bit quilty, as i couldnt offer them a cuppa, for one thing there is no water at the place, plus i must admit, since having the keys our minds were on the funeral yesturday..

They also did a very good job of making me cry......with wondefull suprise gifts...

We were also trying to think where the 'hidden stash' might have been hidden:rotfl: but we did find an old record/cash book going back to 1950? and were shocked at the amount of money he was charging for chickens... he also had a load of chickens stolen on the 23rd December:eek:

It was really nice to meet up, and i hope we can meet up again...We will make sure there is some logs coming your way;):D, well me might have a few spare:D

Right off to open my last bottle of crabbies....

Just woken from a mid evening snooze, teach me to get up at 4:30am for a car boot and then go swanning over to Swansea with DW!

CTC and DH, lovely people, who were kind enough to spend far too much of their precious time showing us around their new venture. Its a real challenge, but if anyone can do it, they will.

Greenhouse, CTC, you've got loads of options for siting, not too close to trees to avoid damage from falling branches and shade. Awkward to put up so ideally avoid a temporary site if you can. Or choose a temp site that may just become permanent :). Soil overall looks rich but prone to waterlogging in parts. You may well have horsetail, not a weed I'm too familiar with.

The blackcurrants were just about to begin flowering and should see you with a lot of fruit for jam and pie mixes, if you net as fruit begins to colour. I can prob pot up suckers of Autumn raspberries if you would like, but appreciate you've got a lot to sort out before any serious planting takes place.

Knotweed, all parts supposed to be edible, so pigs should happily graze on fresh shoots and roots..but prob not eradicate it.

Hazelnuts..its a race between you and the squirrels, they'll win unless DH gets the squirrels first!

CTC, thanks again, and tell DH I'd go first for loose floorboards, second for ledge in chimney breast :D Leave the attic for last

    I've been Money Tipped!
I like all these meet ups! It feels a natural extention of chatting here!

I am envious of those pf you getting rain. We have a cold wind, and could see rain falling on the hills to north, east and south east, but just by passing us. :(. We had a shower a couple of days a go, but not enough to make any real difference. Still, quit grey, windy and not fun outside today. Got some saladings in, and kept going with that first coat of paint in the bedroom. Its very patchy, but we were both reading while painting, so not too surprising!

We also have made a jerry built 'canopy' for our bed. In bed we are blinded by the over head light, so we put some hooks and garden wire in the very fragile ceiling, and have hung and old piece of sun bleached silk up there. It looks.....like an old bit of fabric suspended on used garden wire...but not blinded any more!

We have not made any great progresses this weekend, and in fact, feel somewhat like we are losing ground, but we have had time together and sorted some domestic stuff out, I might even get through the post pile tomorrow!

i think this site has shown there are no predjudice's, no judgements etc therefore we all know each other "warts and all" to different degrees. everyone has thier place in a vital way to link the chain of people involved with OUR THREAD. friendships are formed by knowledge and not always sight. i for one feel this site is "my guilty pleasure" of being honest with people of different backgrounds/ages/etc.
    THANKYOU all for sharing friendships.

    Nice post, alfie :D

What I always wonder is, when people first meet, are the others anything physically like you pictured them to be? Or don't you picture people ........ I'm sort of between the two. I get like a ghost of a person without the features ...... if you know what I mean :o

:rotfl::rotfl:i personally get an image ,not necesarilly visual but of the person by the way they write ....noting all of us seem to have a common denominator that we all seem able to take the P out of ourselves and in turn out of each other kindly. i build up that image with thier knowledge type, ie plants, hoss's, landscapes, bees and lots more. ends up a bit like an individual decor style board . textures/colors/locations/perceptions.
    all equals " a happy crew" :rotfl::rotfl:

if you need a mental image of me...cross wurzel gummage with forest gump..:o

duurrr..so to answer your question . those ive met have been beyond my expectations so theres hope for you all....:rotfl::rotfl:
