Up at the bungalow today. It was glorious.

Had a rethink about putting decking around the static after getting a quote from the local building suppliers  We'll have to make do and mend with the shale hardcore standing. Thinking we might cover the shale with a semi permeable membrane and make a large wooden frame for over the top of it, put a load of wood chippings over this as the shale is a bit of a tripping and injury nightmare for the toddlers. Still, it's only scrapes :D We might just do nothing. It's cheaper!

Goodness, take your eye off the board for a day or so and what happens?

Rozee gets tiddly, Lotus goes conkers, Itsme's alter ego is revealed as researcher extraordinaire, Alf morphs from hoarder to Lovejoy and CTC's temperature rises just a bit too much (that must have been really scary ).

Have spent a little while very gingerly weeding some of the raised beds, and sowing some legumes. Lots more still to do :o. DW and me got out together for a couple of hours today without mishap and bought some stuff (paid too much!).

Hot today, and this wall to wall sunshine helps the solar earn its keep :)

Why not have an area for the tots covered with Mypex / Phormisol or similar greenhouse floor covering. You have to nail it down at the edges with steel or plastic pegs but it is slightly nicer to fall on and you can sweep it. We use it here for plant standing out areas. :)

Wood chips are lovely.....toilets for moggies and passing wildlife!

Good to hear from you again rhiwfield. I think you may have been a bit under the weather lately, but at least selling in cold places seems to be on its way out for this year.

Yes, wood chips are a magnet for cats needing the loo! I'm forever clearing our front garden of poo.

Today I sowed seeds in my greenhouse while I was supervising the tilers (I.e running around with tea & biscs). I did peppers, toms, courgettes, peas, cucumbers, herbs, also scallop squashes and pumpkins, not sure if it is to early for the last two as the packets said April but thought I would try it. Please God let some of them germinate!

I have a stupid question - I got 4pallets to make a compost bin on our allotment but one of them is painted blue - is it wise to use it or will it contaminate the compost and then the plants?

I knew there'd be a reason not to use woodship. There was cat poo in the garden this morning, which our neighbour's very bouncy springer spaniel puppy kindly removed by eating it (eughh!), Part of the problem is the amount of material we'll need, but Phormisol looks like a viable alternative - thanks for the advice, guys. I'm glad you're all so knowledgeable!

Did I? ....But I don't know a company on the IOW! :rotfl:Are you sure I didn't just give you the names of the main products? I get mine from LBS in Lancashire. :o

More good news. The Australorp that was at death's door last July, and has never laid an egg, produced one yesterday. She may also have been responsible for a misplaced one last week. Anyway, it's nice not to have any 'passengers' now. :)

Well according to the weatherman, we got this weather until easter sunday

We were going to spend the whole of the Easter weekend working in the new place, but sadly a HA friend of ours died of a heart attack, he was only 45:eek: so we have got to rush to try and get the bike back on the road, it has an electrical problem,( and the calipas need doing etc)

    I just cant believe it...

Really makes you realise, Even with all the worry of work, money etc, I am glad now i took the gamble and bought the house etc... life is too short... just take the gamble, in any decision and go for it.....( well within reason...lol...)

There was no need to panic with the solicitors, he just wanted to make sure i knew about certain things... Did ask if we could complete by friday ( tomorrow) but he did give me a strange look:rotfl: ( well i wanted to make the most of the weekend)

Really cant wait to make my first cup of tea in the house...Rhiwfield... will you be one of our first official visitors?

Talking of tea.... going to put the kettle on:D

Yes Dave it was you and one of the links you gave me. Unfortunately LBS never responded to any of my emails.
