Horse Chestnuts aren't a common tree 'round yer,' so I don't think we will be planting one, and especially not until that leaf mining moth has been controlled. That made a right mess of all the chestnuts in Bath.:(
We dug up the small oak in the yard this afternoon , so that will be going in somewhere tomorrow. Today, we just planted a holly, rescued a year ago from the original hedge clearance. We needed something to site behind a trough which wouldn't shed leaves into it.
I'm totally knackered. Both DW and I find the dumper a handful, because the seat rocks alarmingly, the steering is weird and we can barely reach the pedals.
Rushing around with a wheelbarrow, picking up stones and rubbish isn't much fun either. I think we have another couple of dumpy bags, full of plastic and other non burnable detritus. Now it's just a matter of persuading the council chappie we're not trade!
All my uneaten parsnips, 3 sackfuls, have gone as an early Easter present to my digger man's sheep. The 'Tender & True' all had carrot fly damage, so this year I'm sowing much later and hoping to avoid that. Sadly, nothing seems to relish overblown leeks! :rotfl:0
