I'm sorry to hear about your wether, choille. It hadn't been anywhere near poultry litter, had it?

No - it had gorged on some beat pellets, but that isn't uncommon.

Poultry is not near the sheep fields.

I think it had a pellet wedged as when we got the pipe down - after it had died = there was expanded beat pellet on the end.

Yes, pellets (dry food) can do it. He was unlucky, though, they usually manage to shift it.

Exactly - never known this to happen.

We did have this wonder if there was a blockage (tumor)other than the pellets. The shepard who very kindly came - but the sheep had gone by then offered to open him so we could check, but we decided it didn't matter to know. We have opened up a sheep in th epast whenn we've suspected nasty transferable disease but this seemed unnecessary & he was all dressed to go out & a dead sheep in a wheelbarrow in a muddy field isn't that great for a 'good clothes' - sorry too much info!

Don't worry. I've known & seen worse. _pale_ Were you bringing him on for anything in particular - fleece or wool - or was he just living out his days?

He was for a companion for a ram, for when the ram isn't serving (don't yet have my own ram) but he was such a wee cracker that he was getting kept so he could be a Hebredian ram's pal - that was the plan...............................so taht when the ram had done his deed & went down the bottom field he would have a companion.

    Good idea.
Will you be getting another or will you wait till you get your tup now? I don't even know if you are lambing this spring, sorry. :o
If so, you'll have some boys of your own & could always keep one by as a future companion.

Any one else starting to think about clocks going back? I think i might struggle this year, i am getting up a little later than usual at this time of year, while normally i start getting up earlier so that come the click change i am already in time....

I wish they would leave it alone....still have to get up earlier with the sun changes, but i feel really cheated out of the hour.

I have to be honest, LIR, it's not the mornings that makes me look forward to the clocks changing, it's the longer evenings. :j
I'll just factor in the hour's sleep somewhere without really noticing :D
