Good letter - don't let them off the hook. Assuming your "invoice" doesn't show an element of VAT then feel free to report G24 to HMRC - details here - http://search2.hmrc.gov.uk/kb5/hmrc/contactus/view.page?record=k9zpyaj9_goAll aboard the Gus Bus !0

I agree, excellent letter. You could have added that if any further unjustified demands for payment coupled with threats were sent, you would regard it as actionable harassment- but hey, there's always time for that.
Will be most interested to see what comes back.0 -

I did consider it, because frankly it was distressing to receive the demand. I pulled myself together and opted for stern rather than vulnerable in the initial approach, but if it goes on I agree that harassment would be an accurate description.
Will consider the VAT issue too when I have a bit more time. A multi-pronged campaign against wrongdoing.
Thanks everyone for all the advice, support and encouragement. Really appreciate it, and I'll keep you posted.0 -
Haha!!!! Had my CPCN today for parking 203 mins on a 180 min limit.
The shops don't open in the retail park until 10am and I was gone by 11:36am
I dumped my car there on a Sunday morning because I was a little late for a charity half marathon that I was running in to raise money for the local hospice :A
I was very angry with myself when I first opened the letter but a bit of investigation has put me right
Thank-you all for your great advice on this thread. I will not be paying or answering the letter :beer:0 -
i was just wondering now, 6months on from the last post on this thread, if im right to ignore G24 Contractual Parking Gharge Notice?0

Go to the main forum and search keyword 'G24' using the 'search this forum' button on the right above the threads:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
This thread you've landed on (by Googling I presume?) is ancient compared to all the current results you will find. The situation is different if in Scotland but in England & Wales your choices are to ignore it all or to appeal and then do a strong appeal to POPLA. Use the search button to read about that too.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Here's one of dozens of such threads, yes:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4434183
Includes a link to the letter chain to ignore, you should just laugh at these letters until it all fizzles out. If the links on that thread don't annswer all your questions then read the first page of the forum - the current threads - as linked by Stroma. If still unsure after seeing the advice we give every single day then please do start your own thread so we can give you that same advice!PRIVATE 'PCN'?
