    Hi guys,

I wonder if you can help me! Ive been following these boards for quite a while now, getting all the tips and looking out to get good deals. I went into Mr T yday and for the first time ever i found an item that had an expired SEL. It was £59.99 reduced from £160 with an expired sel of 18/01/12.
I was so excited when i saw this thinking that i had actually found a DTD deal. However i was soon disappointed when i went to the self service till to double check the price and it came up as £59.99.
Do they do it electronically now? was the SEL too OLD and does it only work on SEL's that are only one or two days over the expired date?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

It sounds like the offer may have been extended.
Unfortunately an ood (out of date) sel does not always mean a DTD. Quite often the offers get extended past the original expiry date, but they don't always remember or perhaps can't be bothered, to put a new sel on with the new expiry date.

I would still keep an eye on this item though, because unless it goes RTC, then eventually you would expect the offer to expire.

It sounds to me, from the amounts you are quoting, that it is probably some kind of electrical item or home appliance.
If so, I find the best thing to do with these, although this is not 100%, is to check the price on t's direct. This should give you an idea as to whether the offer has been extended or is actually ood.

    hth :)

This happened to me a number of times yesterday.

I think a lot of offers that were due to expire within the last week or so have been carried forward and I imagine that changing a sel just to have the correct expiry date on it is a low priority for staff when the actual price shown is correct.
If you're not scared, you're not paying attention

Also happened to me, bought a lot of gluten free biscuits that had an ood sel and the offer was still on. I've yet to get a DTD.
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

Wow! Just had my first "big" dtd. I've had my eye on a Nikon Coolpix S6150 camera since just after Christmas. It was reduced from £199 to £99 until the end of Jan. I went in on 1st Feb and sure enough it still had the reduced price on. Disappointingly though it still scanned at £99. About a week later a new SEL appeared; still at £99 but offer now ended to 28th Feb. Without too much hope I returned again today and this time was delighted to be charged £199. One visit to CS and lo and behold a great camera for free and £1 for my troubles. Oh happy days! Isn't it great when a plan just works!

Sorry Paperweight, unless I am mistaken you have only been given JTD.
DTD would have give you a free camera and £200 in your pocket!

    You paid £199
    camera sel was £99
    overcharge £100
    DTD = 2 x £100 = £200
If this is the case Tesco has pulled a fast one, again!

But she/he paid the £199 in the first place, gets back £200, and is therefore better off by £1 (plus the camera).

You've confused me now - surely the OP was overcharged by £100 and got back £200 DTD. They had paid out £199 so had the camera free and an extra £1 in their pocket? I don't quite understand why you are saying they were 'done'.

Just got a nice DTD in T's 78 pack of dishwasher tablets free. Mind you, we've still got a huge stash from the free ones in Sainsbury's 2-3 years ago and the free quantamatics more recently! But I wasn't going to turn them down!

Finish All in 1 Powerball Dishwasher Tablets Lemon (78's)

    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/#/shopping/findproducts.aspx?query=finish%2078&store=tesco

Priced in a section with bigger pack better value at £20.42( yeah right :rotfl: Like we're going to fall for that!)

Priced in their normal section next to the other Finish dishwasher tablets at £10.21! b/code ends 555675 Happy shopping!
