There are plenty of jobs out there!

'is' or 'in'? I am thinking it's 'in'. Not doing to well then? Downsized?
I wonder how easy you think it is for people to get a job these days? Just thinking out loud & I know it's late so there is no need to reply
Would guess it is pretty tough at the moment, just what gets to me is people that think they are entitled to sign on indefinately until the "right" job comes along. Whilst others will take the low paid grotty jobs and have tax deducted, some of which is given to the more picky. Just seems wrong.0 -
OP opening post was:Do you ever get this attitude, "There are plenty of jobs out there" really really pi$$es me of, it implies I am not doing enough to get a job:mad:
So, back to the topic so to speak.. Yes, it &^%^%$ me off, especially coming from someone who speaks really bad English, has absolutely no idea about various job profiles/professions/requirements and by pure luck ended up on the opposite side of the desk.. opposite to where I happen to be unfortunately sitting for the time being, every 2 weeks.
Patronising tone *)^(^%(% me off too, especially coming from someone who clearly hasn't got two brain cells to rub together but gets on a moral high horse with me just because I happen to be TEMPORARILY out of work and they have a little shiney tag with "adviser" on them.
People that have NEVER worked getting the same amount of JSA as I did/am (first it was "contribution based" - if so, should have been REALLY contribution based, a percentage of my previous wages/contributions) and not bothering to better themselves finding one excuse after another and playing the "system" for all it's worht *%$*$&%$$ me off.
Rant over - nite nite and all the best finding that dream job - sooner rather than later... to ALL of us0 -

Some people made an effort to get qualifications/experience/ability to get better paid jobs while others never bothered using every EXCUSE under the sun to stay low...
Some struggled for years to get to a certain point in their career - some sat on their %*$$*$ watching Jeremy Kyle and collecting other people's taxes as their benefits.
Pls, have a decency to see things for what they REALLY are.
Look around you ...

Oh and those "more picky" may have paid their own tax for several years so they are not living out of yours or anyobody else's....

You obviously do not get it do you? I have 20 years accounts expereince and am applying for jobs all levels of jobs and jobs at NMW and do not get interviews with these companies as I am over qualified for the roles.
Here is just one example:
One reply I had the other day was I didn't meet the criteria so I asked for a bit of feedback, maybe I lacked experience etc and this was the reply
'
Unfortunately we don’t have any suitable vacancies for which you could be considered as you have a CV that would put you a little over qualified for the role we are advertising for. This particular position involves a lot of copying, faxing and scanning.
We will however keep your details on file for a period of 6 months and contact you should a suitable opportunity arise in the future.'
To which I replied (after already telling them I had 20 years exp) '
I applied for the role of Bought Ledger and I have many years experience in that so I thought it would have suited me well. I can use the photocopier, fax and scanner.'
How do you suggest someone gets a job if people wont interview them?0 -

Would be - if it was not true.... LOL0
