And in the meantime, keep taking other peoples money?

You are in London and there are jobs there.

Nope, taking my own money - after having paid 40% taxes for several years, thank you.

Not at all. I think its when you have been out of work 13 weeks you have to apply for jobs at NMW, that is a fact or you are restricting yourself.

No, you do not have to as such. As long as you meet the requirements set for you, nobody is forcing you to apply for NMW jobs per se.

If they see you are not meeting, they can (and will) "suggest" you apply for whatever they have on their books - regardless of how unsuitable you think that may be.

BUT as I said, I meet and exceed the requirements applying for jobs that I find myself.....simple.

And as above, I do not live of other people money - I have paid massive 40% taxes for several years.

well then maybe I am the only one in the UK that has that on my back to work agreement stating I will apply for an not turn down a job at NMW

To say no one has ever said you can no longer restrict the salary you are looking for I find VERY hard to believe.

I do have it written on my agreement, everyone claiming over 13 weeks does.

But it does not mean anyone is forcing me to apply for those jobs when they see how hard am I trying by myself by looking at my 2 weekly "evidence" or whatever one calls the sheet where you write what/when/how etc.

Yeah, I fill in at least 2 of those every two weeks and have a carrier bag full of old ones. When I used to see the adviser (not seen one since June as on the WP now) she would show me stuff on the screen and I'd say it's not enough £ and she would say you have to apply for NMW so to shut them up I'd apply and when I got the kick back email saying I was over quailifed I would take it in to show her and tell her I want an interview there & what can you going to do about it and her reply was 'we can't do anything'. Even though I do not want a job at NMW and will never get one as that's lower than a junior in accounts I apply every now and again to them to prove a point but I would take a job if offered it @ nmw.

Sorry to hear that, must be truly awful.

They did suggest few jobs for me but I pointed they were not suitable - they never really understood what my individual area of expertise is so backed off when I attempted to explain. Still I doubt they understood and it always makes me wonder HOW are some of the advisers under the illusion they can help anyone back into work....

I also point that I do apply for jobs that pay hald of what I am used to earning and then again they tend to back off really.

And still, living in London I will NOT apply or take a NMW job - if ever forced somehow to apply for one, I will apply and then make sure I do not get it, sorry but NMW jobs in London may be suitable for some people (young, living at home, having partners who earn more etc etc) but I could not live on one.

But still happy to take the handouts, whilst letting others do the jobs you think below you to help support you.

A I said before - I was paying 40% taxes for several years so pls do not try to send me on a guilt trip here.

Direct this kind of comments towards those who have never worked/never contributed anything but grab whatever they feel they are "entiled" to with both hands...

I have no sympathy for anyone that turns down work whilst claiming benefits, whichever end of the scale they think they are. Not whilst others are being taxed whilst earning NMW.
