Mandz - Good luck with quitting smoking! :j It's definitely too hard to do both at the same time - you have a much healthier attitude than I do though, I always say that I'd rather be thin than healthy so will quit when I've lost the weight :o. Truthfully, I think I just enjoy smoking too much... erm, and eating too much... lol.

Iguanapunk - I've read a little about it. Are you doing it to lose weight or will you be bodybuilding or anything with it? If it's just weight loss I'd probably go with Atkins as it's less strict but will have the same effect, I don't really know anything about bodybuilding though so can't really help with that aspect.

I am doing a bulking phase to get as big as I can, followed by a cutting phase to lose body fat. The ketogenic diet is more selective which is what you look for if you don't want a diet to attack muscle for fuel. I am only just getting my head around it, and I know it's going to be a challenge but it works so that is enough for me to do it.

    Hi all

    Well done Beanie! :T

Thanks Fred. I haven't had many opportunities to exercise over the last few days, but I did manage to walk for 2 miles on Monday.

There are lots of places to walk around here, so when I've got through showing my face to family and friends I haven't seen for 6 months I'll get my boots on and go. It won't be before Tuesday though, as we're off up north to see our daughter and her family for the weekend. Last time we were there we walked to the local park and managed to get locked in - the police had to come and let us out!

I haven't had any comments on my weight loss so far, which is slightly dissapointing, but I probably expected too much, it's only 19 pounds after all. Maybe if I'd lost twice as much my friends would have noticed... :o I have just bought a smaller size pair of jeans though! :j

    Back soon.

Sary - knees are knackered, along with one of my hips. Blah!!!! Still having to run around behind the DD who's had a dislocated knee, then a broken ankle (cast for 6 months) then another dislocated knee. So tomorrow (strange day to start I know) I'm taking my fella's car from MOT and going to attempt to walk back home from there, it's not far, only about a mile, but it's a start, and get the over eating sorted. Bought myself a rowing machine as I thought it would move my knees and hips and dodgy shoulder :rotfl: Takes me so long to get down onto it, I feel like I've already done enough exercise for the day :rotfl:

Mandz - Pop over to the stop smoking thread, great advice on there and support. My personal advice, apples, water and frozen grapes.

    Beanie - well done you!!

    Go Beanie! :j

Thanks for the chart Fred :T, I think my 3 lb loss the other week was missed as this month I've lost 3, then gained 1, then lost 1 :).

Ok sorry, will add the correction on for next weeks chart

  • Hi can I please join this forum? It will be my first time on something like this so sorry if I'm not supposed to post here lol. I really need some help to loose weight and I am hoping that reading about others trying to do the same might help. At the minute I just weigh myself every Thurs at home and keep a note of it - although I haven't been doing very well recently. Thanks :o)
