  • Beanielou - put the malteasers in the freezer, it will either shut them up, or if it doesn't it will take you twice as long to eat them! I employ the same tactic with choccie buttons, I buy the wee kiddy bags to give me just enough of a sugar/choc hit to satisfy the craving, but only about 75 calories !

And yes, nicky I do feel like I live at the gym, but I am absolutely determined to crack this weight and keep it off! I am really enjoying it, which is something of a revelation !! I love the classes, and work so much harder than I would on my own :-)

My new chocolate tactic is to walk very fast in the supermarket so that i don't see the chocolate, and to burn lots of calories at the same time!

Hello Mrs TM! Weighing every three months is probably quite cool, you wont notice the ups and downs but should always get a positive result on the scales when you do get to them. All the best!

The lady who did my health check at the gym helped me decide that. I figure that the scales I have here are not accurate at all (one is even 7.5 kg over what I weighed at the gym that day!), so I'm just not going to use either of them. The other is for the Wii and I've never really trusted that one.

We've always found ours to be spot on accurate but you do have to remember to only use it on a hard non carpeted surface.

vixarooni - I tried your chocolate tactic today at the supermarket but I was worn out by the time I reached the crisps.
  • Today I did LBT class, so betting my legs will be sore tomorrow!

Total exercise time today. 1 hr 50 mins :-)

On nights tonight, so gave in to the naughty KFC for tea....I will do penance in the gym tomorrow !!

The only non carpeted surface in our entire house (rented) is the kitchen. The sensor won't work that far away from the tv! Regardless, it is much closer to my actual weight than our other scale, even on carpet. It's only 2 pounds off from the actual. I've spent half of my life worrying what that stupid scale says, and I've decided to focus on my health and fitness level more than anything else. If the scale moves, so be it, if not, I'll at least look and feel better and be able to do more due to eating less and all of the exercise.

Unfortunately, for this week at least, swimming is out... Women will understand why. Oh well, gives me a chance to test out that cycle class without overworking myself too much! :)

Should I count walking as exercise? We don't have a car (don't really want one since we are so close to town) so we walk everywhere. I walked 3.1 miles today, but I didn't time it because we have snow and ice out there at the moment. Getting somewhere safe is better than falling in my opinion!

Tupperware Queen - Freezing choc is a fab idea! I think I'll do that from now on :D

Welcome to the thread Mrs T M :j

Got a stonking cold at the mo so not doing much... other than feeling very sorry for myself, and letting everyone know how terribly poorly I feel :o lol, I'm such a wimp when it comes to illness!

I've recently discovered Tesco's Click and Collect hut - you basically order your shopping online and then collect the next day (or whenever you want). You just drive up to the hut, load up, and drive off - fabulous! :) I've been doing that lately so I don't have the hassle of waiting for a delivery driver, and can avoid the temptation of the crisp aisle!!!!

Lolly~Tesco's click & collect sounds good.
One of my problems is that I am fairly bad at sticking to a list
