Fred can you put me down for the 5lb challenge, the Roses and Chocolates team and 1 trip through the tunnel. I am going to just log my walk / runs and not classes as I usually do - hoping it will make me get out and train for the 5k I am doing now that the snow and ice have gone.0

Ahhhh, it's the weekend!
Apologies for not posting this week, I seem to have got lost somewhere along the way in amongst a big pile of paperwork and spreadsheets.
Anyway, I forgot to weigh in on Wednesday too, so no idea about any loss, but suspect I'd have been lucky to have a STS anyway, as I've been far too friendly with the bread bin all week.
Will try to steer clear if possible, but I'm also very strapped for cash, so we're having to live out of the freezer/cupboards for the next week or two, which isn't too much of a chore, as they're well stocked, but it does mean they might not be the most weightloss friendly (wanted to say diet, and thought better of it!) meals ahead. Even if the scales in the bathroom don't look healthier by the end of February, my bank balance should. Bear with me fellow bulge battlers, and aplogies to the candlelit dinner team, that I'll be on, please Fred.
Put me down for the 5lb challenge too please
Lois, let us know what you think of the book. I watched his show a few years back about eating yourself thin, but all that tapping, picking the fork up, putting it down, chewing each mouthful so many times, etc, really did seem bizarre and went totally against how we've been raised. We get weaned by mothers who put mouthfuls of pureed food in our mouths at a rate of knots, then decades later you're meant to take a rest between mouthfuls.
Vix, the shelter sounds fab. I'd be wanting to bring them all home though, I just want to mother everything. If I won the lottery I'd love to have a small petting farm, where we'd have goats, small pets, piggies, ponies, etc. I'd also have a nice little tearoom attached to it... see, it always ends up with food!
I'll try to post more next week! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

STS this week, I suspect that was to do with only going to the gym once, going out last weekend and twice in the week, meaning poorly planned dinners and sandwiches. Blah! Will get back on it this week, hopefully with the help of my new Mr Motivator DVD.0

Fredsnail could you please put me down for the 5lb challenge, the candlelit dinner team, and The Eiffel tower steps please.
I have really lost my way off late and I am trying to make a fresh start in February. I am trying to be good again with calorie counting with myfitnesspal.
I have been out and about with my dog a lot but as I do this every day I dont count this as exercise anymore. Doing and Counting steps I do purely for this challenge will be extra exercise and I plan to return to my workouts in the gym which have been neglected since December!DFW Nerd 1394.

This all makes sense now I've finished reading the book! lol
I can see the point of what PMcK is saying particularly the psychological reasons we over-eat, and I'd love to have a magical transformation in the way I eat that just makes the pounds drop off, but this method still involves making big lifestyle changes.
Our Sunday tradition is to have a lie-in then have bacon and eggs for brunch. We usually have toast with it, but today I decided to wait until I'd finished the bacon and eggs and then see if I was still hungry. I didn't have toast.
I also took longer to eat the bacon and eggs and although I didn't chew each mouthful 20 times, I did chew it longer, and put my knife and fork down, but I hate cold food and I was seriously worried it would get cold before I finished it!
It's been an hour since I ate and I'm starting to think I didn't eat enough - I'm not exactly hungry, but I don't feel satisfied either.
This is where I think the whole plan isn't going to work - we're going out soon (to Ikea) and we'll probably have a coffee in the cafe, and by then I'll be properly hungry and find it hard to resist a cake. If I'd had toast with brunch, I'd resist the naughties.
PMcK's advice is to eat when you're properly hungry, but that isn't necessarily going to fit in with the daily routine of work - I can't just eat whenever I want to so I try to make sure I have enough breakfast to keep me going until lunchtime, and enough lunch to last until I get home.
I haven't listened to the DVD yet, and I'm not sure about it now, yet when I heard PMcK being interviewed about this new book, I was convinced it was going to be right for me.
I wonder if I'm resisting it because there's something deep in my psyche that doesn't want to be thin. *shrugs*

Me again - haha.
Fred - can you put down 1.5 miles for the distance challenge, and 150 steps please.
I wish I had a pedometer - it would be interesting to find out how many steps it takes to walk round Ikea!

Well I've had a stinking cold since Tuesday so no exercise for almost a week! I've just about managed to drag myself to work and back so no way I could have managed it but still feeling a bit guilty. Luckily not much appetite until yesterday either so hoping it evens out. Might attempt my DVD later if I'm feeling up to it although unfortunately will have to do level 2 for a while again, I'd almost worked up to level 3 but no sure I could manage it now, haha!0
