Hope you feel better soon Margaretclare. It must be very frustrating that your op has been cancelled. Good luck with it and hope to see you back here when you feel up to it.

    Welcome Tupperware-Queen :)
  • I have never frequented this part of the forum before, but really need to shed the pounds this year before I hit the big 4 0!!

I have been walking or swimming every single day since 1st Jan, and have just received my '30 day shred' DVD. So far I have done it yesterday and today, and boy, do I ache!!!

I am also watching what I eat, trying to make it realistic not restrictive (just had a bacon and egg buttie after doing my shred). The key for me is portion control, I am a 'pile it high' kind of a girl, so really need to keep an eye on that.

I am using Noom, an android app, to log all my food, exercise and weight etc, finding it really good, and interesting to see how many calories I use up throughout the day - this has significantly cut down my evening snacking.

My starting weight, which I first measured on 10th Jan, was 88.1kg, weight on 18th 87.3kg.

Good luck with this! The 30 day shred DVD is amazing and if you do it regularly and watch the portion control I promise you will lose weight. I've just re-started it after putting on a bit of weight last year and 5lb lost already, starting level 2 tomorrow!

Hope everyone keeps safe in the snow - we need to go food shopping but not venturing out apart from that and will do my exercise indoors as usual.

    Yes, I'll certainly do that.

I've never had a cold that went on so long - soon be into the 3rd week. I was all psyched up to have the BR today but not safe to be anaesthetised.

This lurgy that I have is now just about to go into its 4th week.
I am so bored of feeling unwell, coughing leaking and blowing my nose.
I cant even get my hair cut as I couldent sit without coughing for long enough
Though my appetite is starting to come back.
I have even drunk a bottle of lucozade sport today as have heard it helps to replenish things in your body.

Hope that you are on the mend soon.

I sympathise, I know how you feel. I'm getting 'stir-crazy' because of not being out for so long. We didn't get the snow that everyone else got on Friday, even London which is not that far - we got some over Friday night which mainly thawed yesterday, but today it looks as if it means it - fine stuff which is likely to lie and build up. At least I'm not getting such disturbed nights. We are eating well. At least if we have a good breakfast we don't need anything else for several hours, then if we have a meal - 'lunch'? - mid-afternoon I often don't have anything else at all because I just don't feel hungry.

There will probably be the weekly 'stretch-and-tone' for 50+ in the local WI hall tomorrow but I don't think I'll be going. Church is cancelled this morning - well, we weren't going anyway.

i had a cold that lasted for three weeks towards the end of last year, i didnt think it was ever going to go! I feel for you both and hope it clears up soon :)

I am a huge fan of snow, but it stopped me being with my dad on his 70th birthday yesterday :( I think theyre getting a fair bit in kent now so lucky i didnt travel down.

I actually did a bit of exercise today in the form of walking, albeit short and soooooo cold!

Hope everyone is fighting the urge to squirrel food like im not!!

    Afternoon all

Snowing again here, all plans to go anywhere this weekend have been cancelled and we're holed up keeping warm and watching telly. Luckily I re-stocked the fridge and cupboards on Friday so we've got plenty of supplies to keep us going.

Margaretclare and Beanie - hope you both get well very soon. Same to anyone else suffering from the lurgy.
