Hi guys old, new and returning!
I've officially moved and jeez, this house is huge in comparison to my parents and the room I used to rent! Its horrible without a tv/Internet/washing machine/dishwasher. I can't believe how much I use modern tech!
Lolly:that doctor/science guy has done a programme and book on his fasting diet, Is that the one you're doing?0 -

Nice to see plenty of new faces here too
As promised a few weeks ago, I'm returning to try to get the lbs off again. I seem to have been doing this for far too long now, so it would be nice to master the losing, and keeping it off part. I think I've lost the same 2 stone for far too many years now. *sighs*
Anyway, life here is calm enough for me to begin to focus a bit more on me again. I think the past year has proven that when I get stressed I definitely eat more, which also proves how much of an emotional eater I must be I guess. So on top of controlling what I eat, I need to learn to control the stress too... I've yet to work out how to do that, but it's a start just admitting it!
Fred, can you add me to the list/teams for the 5lb challenge, several resolutions and the distance challenge. Do you want me to PM you my starting weight? Also can you add 4.6 miles to my distance so far.
OH has gained a few lbs for the first time in his life, but that's mainly due to the fact that he's been rendered practically inactive since last May when he hurt his back. He's finally back on his feet again, although not pain-free totally, but is encouraging me to go out and do some walking with him. I have to say that the weight I have gained is definitely affecting one of my knees, so there's definitely a reason to lose it now that I cannot ignore. Because it is a bit sore, I'm having to do the exercise a day on/off at least, to not aggravate it.
Diet-wise I'm just following a heathy eating principle. No gimmick or fads this time. I'd rather see the weight melt away slowly, but without me feeling I'm really going without, or making huge changes. That means eating less sugar, high fat, refined wheat foods, which don't really have a nutritional benefit, and upping the veg, fruit, whole foods. Basically it's a bit like doing Slimming World again, but without the membership fees
Good luck everyone!
My best advice after loosing 5 stone!
Dont call it a diet - that automatically comes with a negative energy.
I call it 'my life' - this takes away all the pressure of a 'diet' and removes all the stupid stereotype.
Be yourself, want to loose weight? well then dont punish yourself - enjoy yourself. When you 'diet' you revolve your life around food - you become a slave to it.
First and for most you need to have fun, forget about food - dont live to eat, eat to live.
This way when you treat yourself (rarely) you wont feel guilty and it will become a treat for you
Hope this helps x0 -
Well I weighed myself today and although my weigh in isnt til Monday, the scales say 11 9!!!! I'm going to try and stay off them until Monday but this was so encouraging this morning! I had a bit of a cheat day yesterday and ate a bit of cheese, but as i've got til Monday, i'm going to be really good until then now! I'm enjoying my slimming world type diet without the meetings. I am going to continue to use my xtrainer as I can see my shape changing after only 5 workouts! And i've only done up to 35 mins so far. So my mission for today is to do 30 mins in sections on the xtrainer! x2022 Comp total (prizes + free spins): £494.81 #20 £12 a day Jan: £382.95/£372 #57 360 1p challenge: £17.70 £10 a day Feb: £571.09/£280 March: £311.96/£3100

Thanks Holly Rose, they're very wise words. The problem with being a foodaholic is that you struggle to not think of food. I've been dreaming about supermarket shopping, on an almost nightly basis for over 20 years now, so this is a serious addiction
No exercise today, but am enjoying eating when I feel hungry, and not having to wait until it's time to. This way I do feel I'm keeping the pangs to eat at bay, and by choosing to eat nice, healthy foods, I'm feeling no guilt either.
Welcome back Mazza, nice to see another friendly face returning. Best wishes for Bendy, it must be tough for her *insert dodgy hug smilie* :grouphug:I know you've been a martyr to your knees, and I'm sympathising with you hun.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Nice to see so many people on here.
Mazza I am trying to go wheat free for a month, but as usual you begin to find it is everywhere! I am not going down the 'gluten' free route, but trying to substitute with veg if possible, eg, having leeks in my lasagne instead of pasta. I gave up bread and cereal last year and have to say I have not really missed them too much - I tend to have omelet for breakfast and salad for lunch. My real downfall is pastry, cakes and biscuits - all things I am need to cut out of my diet anyway.
HollyRose, very wise words. I am trying not to see myself as 'on a diet' just making better food choices. Andylinz that sounds like great advice, I am sure we would all be much healthier if we could eliminate salt, sugar and flour. I have found that sugar (a bit like wheat) is added to absolutely everything and things you think are fine, like bacon, are cured with salt and sugar. Probably the best we can do is try to reduce these as much as possible.
Well went to join my Ballroom dancing class today, only to find the hall closed  Will try again next week. 45 min spin and 1 hour bodypump to add to the challenge please Fred.0 -
I have 3 big downfalls. Crisps, Bread and Butter. I have a wee bit of a food addiction thing going on too, not as bad as some though. I never feel full. When I'm on a downer I can eat crisps like there's no tomorrow. So I'm hoping that keeping them as a once a week/fortnight treat will see some results.
I do love my bread n butter with my dinner though.
I'll give some of the wheat free breads a go and see how I get on. Trying to stay off butter completely.
I'm a very picky eater, and this is what gets me everytime, is the lack of choice given how fussy I am. I just love my grub.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
30 mins on the cross trainer in 15 min sessions with 3 mins inbetween. I can certainly feel it now! Aiming for 40 tomorrow while little man is at school so wish me luck x2022 Comp total (prizes + free spins): £494.81 #20 £12 a day Jan: £382.95/£372 #57 360 1p challenge: £17.70 £10 a day Feb: £571.09/£280 March: £311.96/£3100
