!!! STEP AWAY FROM THE EASTER EGGS !!!
The smell will drive you mad!
I was just responding to a post in the WW community about chocolate - if you can last 2 weeks without any, you'll find you don't crave it as much. I think it has something addictive in it that makes you want more and the smell alone is enough to tempt you. I used to be a real chocoholic but I stopped eating it and it really doesn't bother me anymore, I can take it or leave it.

    Hi

I did my trusty Davina DVD on Fri and yesterday so another 2km please Fred. Up to 5 km now.
I used the 2kg weights instead of the 1.5kg ones = achey shoulders.

Also did a bit of gardening - not very strenuous today but I do have a root to dig up soon which might be worth counting - I think it's going to be a pig!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

This is true. Chocolate is addictive. However, what is sold as 'chocolate' in the UK contains a high proportion of sugar and is not as good quality as the kind they make in e.g. Belgium or Switzerland, where they insist on a higher proportion of cocoa solids. So is it the sugar content which is addictive, or what is purported to be chocolate?

It is true that, like all addictions, if you manage to avoid it for a period of time i.e. go 'cold turkey', you no longer want it.

I don't think I ever had this addiction to any great extent.

Everything in moderation! Life is too short, and it is something to treasure, enjoy and be thankful for. I may never wear a pair of shorts that are smaller than a size 12, but to deny myself a bar of chocolate every now and then? No way! What would suddenly happen if i did manage to wear a pair of size 10 shorts? It wouldn't increase my happiness in life, and in the process i've missed out on all those little moments of enjoying that chocolate!

    Thats my view anyway :p

    Hi all

Hope you've had a good weekend. I've had a particularly inactive week due to having a cold, but as I'm feeling much better now and it was a gorgeous day, OH and I went for a lovely long walk. Fred can you record 8km for me please? I also did 2km and 1 hour of linedancing on Thursday and 1 hour of aquarobics on Friday.

Vix - eat chocolate if you want to! Ms-night-ryder has given it up for lent, but was planning to put it in her desk drawer, and I know if I had chocolate at such close proximity the smell would drive me to eat it ALL! :rotfl:

Margaretclare - I'm sure it's got to be something in the chocolate/confection as my cravings were very specific. If it was the sugar anything sweet would have done. Maybe you never developed the addiction because you didn't have it when you were a child?

Not only have I had an inactive week and therefore my Activity Points are low, I've also had a bit of a blow-out weekend, so I've used loads of weekly points for the first time. Earlier today, OH and I walked to a beach restaurant and had tapas for lunch - we shared 2 and had some bread with it so it wasn't a huge amount of food, but it's impossible to work out how many points it is on WW! Yesterday, we were going round to friends where there are usually nibbles that I ignore. I'd tracked all my points for the day, leaving enough for a couple of G&Ts, which was fine until the said friend produced some hot chicken sandwiches - they smelt delicious and I couldn't possibly refuse! :o Ah well, that's what points are for....!

Weigh-in tomorrow, and I'm hoping for a good result, cough.

    Have a good week!

It's quite possible. I did have sweets when growing up, but only 3-4 ounces a week. We tended to buy the kind of sweets that would last, that didn't get gobbled up too quickly. I've recently been reading about ice-cream being addictive!

I think I'm fairly resistant to any kind of addiction, because after leaving school I was told 'you should start smoking'. Yes, really! This was, apparently, what you did once you were adult. Well, I tried, many times, but it never really 'grabbed' me. Yet I've known other people who say they smoked one cigarette and were addicted, couldn't give it up from that moment on.
