    Oh Barb, you poor thing!
    Couldnt help but giggle though!

Sorry Barb but I giggled too!:o

Re the medals, you used to get No 4 at 3000 but I think it's changed to 2000 (which means 10000 and No 5 seems even further away!)

The bacon & mushroom risotto sounds fab (recent risotto convert here!) so may give that a bash soon!

Not getting a chance to post a lot - struggling to get back into a "Maisie routine":rotfl:. We'd just about got there and then she was away for a fortnight & we're back to square one!:p

Thanks guys. I think i am past the upset stage and into the anger stage now. I mean, seriously, WHEN does it enter someones head to break into someones house and take their stuff????

Have been looking at dogs and am going to have a good look around tomorrow. Its something i have been thinking about for almost a year now, and i have always said no because of the cost. But i actually dont care now, my safety and the safety of my kids, comes first. And we will all feel safer with a guard dog.
I wont be going for a puppy, as i dont think i have the energy for one, so will be going to rescue centres to get a reasonably young !!!!! i think.

Cleggie - so sorry to hear that you have been burgled. Did he/ she take much? Were you actually in the house at the time? Sending you big hugs and hoping you are ok.

Cleggie - I'm so sorry - You need to take a while to reflect and make sure you haven't forgotten stuff that you then find is gone. I do hope they didn't do significant damage or make too much mess. I remember feeling utterly violated. We were in the house and I was asleep on the first floor; DH was up in his office on the 2nd floor and he crept in and took my handbag. I had just collected my lodger's rent and it was over £400 ready to bank the next morning. Ugh!

You will be OK but a dog is a great idea, and you might consider a surveillance camera (like CCTV that writes to a hard disk on your PC) - the police suggested this to us when we lived in the Southend area as our cars were broken into every week for a month and they suggested we were being targetted - I objected to a planning application to convert a defunct old people's home into a HMO (hostel) opposite the school our DS attended and the police thought it was intimidation.

Some of the reasons we moved to a rural village..

    Take care

I'm so sorry to hear about your day Cleggie. It's absolutely disgusting. I'm grateful that you weren't actually there at the time. To use your loo as well, that sends a message (to me, anyway) that they think it's perfectly ok to come into your home and take your stuff. There are some idiots out there...

Oh Cleggie, that's awful. I hope they didn't do too much damage. It's bad enough that they steal from you without wrecking the place. Thank goodness the kids weren't there.
    Good luck with your dog.
    Big hugs.
