Hi MM, i have no idea how they work. I noticed the other day that i was about 3 posts from hitting 2000, so maybe thats got something to do with it?
I've got a way to go then:p
I Used to post under another name but had real trouble with my log in and when I tried to start up with old name, the system wouldn't let me as said that that name had already been taken - so might have had my 'medal' by now had the system not gone a bit wobblyWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Hi Cleggie, we use up bacon in risotto. Just fry off the onion, add the chopped up bacon, rice, stock. Stir when you remember, add some veg (whatever's lurking in the fridge or freezer). Job done. I don't bother with adding cheese at the end.
We have it every Monday to use up the last couple of bacon rashers and mushrooms from Sunday breakfast. Best thing is, DH cooks it!!
Edit: congrats on your star! I thought I posted a lot!!!Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

Good morning everyone!
I had a yummy bacon and mushroom risotto for dinner last night, the recipe was provided by Kitchenbunny on the GC, but its pretty much the same as yours barb! i added some frozen veg, garlic and chilli, and left out the cheese.
it was soooo yummy!
I cant believe i have hit 2000 posts! i am slightly embarassed! Just goes to show how much i rely on this board at the moment!
Car is still at the garage, havent heard anything from them as of yet, so no doubt i will this morning. Still hoping that its just the brake pads that needed doing, and nothing more!
Getting to the point where i really need to do some shopping at the SM, but i am trying to avoid it! We are running out of milk, bread, eggs, juice, toilet roll etc, but i just cant bear the thought of spending money.
Guess i'll have to though.0 -
Just had a call from the garage re the car. It only needed brake pads doing, and they only charged me £36!!0

MM- oh i do wish i was 'cured' of my SM addiction! I went into morries and spent £30 on carp the other day, so had to update my total...looking ike a very tight month from now on!
The car is back to driving very well, so i am pleased with that!
It needs to have a good valet, so i asked how much it was and he said that he'd get the apprentice to do it, so it would only cost £15
I will book that in for possibly next week, depending on finances.0 -
Er, on the subject of cars, mine has just broken down. There was so nearly a Basil Faulty moment in Plymouth this afternoon as I had a very unfortunate incident involving my fringe and dog do (really, best not to ask):eek: followed by getting back to said carpy car and ended up having to walk home, up hill, with dog and a rather unusual hair accessory. Swearing all the way. Oh dear. Think it's just the battery so hopefully DH will be able to sort it out. If it's anything else I'll prob have to scrap it. Personally!:rotfl:
I sincerely hope that no one else ever suffers the same fringe incident, gross just doesn't do it justice!Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020
