Ooooh, beach! Fab! We're off tomorrow as DH is working all day today over your side of the bridge Cleggie. Doubt if he'll see the outside world though!

Thanks for your comments both of you. It was really weird for the first few days then yesterday I suddenly realised that I felt different. The panic had gone. And I went out last night, spent my budget, paid cash all night.:D

    Morning all :)
We are off to Bude today, to go to the beach. We arent going for the whole day, as its just TOO hot, and we havent picked a picnic. So we are going after we have had lunch, and will be back in time for dinner.

Barb- well done on being DF!! :)

Wow, the beach is the perfect place to go on a day like today! Wish I still lived in Exmouth... Have loads of fun!

Well done you. Bet you felt awesome when you got home last night! It's the little things that make us feel good, but if this marks a change in habits, this is a huge thing you've achieved! Well done again.

    Hi all.
Had a wonderful day out at the beach and meeting up with friends :)
Took £30 out, as i thought i woud put £20 petrol in the car, then £10 for ice creams and stuff. BUT, as it was, i didnt need to put any petrol in the car, and came home with £18ish. Cheap day out.

On the way home, it was late for dinner time (5.30), so thought about popping into Mr T's and getting a pizza, but resisted, and in the end i got home and cooked chicken, carrot and sweetcorn in a tomato sayce with pasta, topped with grated cheese. Just eating it now, and its lovely, and more filling than a pizza would be!

    Morning!

So, the girl who i am selling my uni books to, has said she cant come over until Tuesday to pay and pick up, which is fine as it means i wont have chance to spend the money!

Today i need to get some bread, milk and juice, but thats it.
REALLY on a mission in June, with a food budget of just £200. BUT i think i can manage it, or at least i'll give it my best shot!

Tonights dinner will be HM sweet and sour chicken with noodles and prawn crackers. Might even have a spring roll with it, as there is one left in the freezer :)

Am going to have a read of the GC's forst few posts to remind me how to go about spending less, and also pick up some savoury recipes to try for snacks, as the kids need more snack things.

    Me again!
The ex has just rang and asked if he could have the kids for half term...so i am aiming to spend as little as possible that week! Will probably treat myself to some choc and wine, and live off omlette and jacket potato for the week :)

    Morning!

am finally selling my uni books this morning! The womans partner is on his way to collect them, and is paying £140 for them, which is a reasonable price i guess!

That £140 will go towards my June grocery shop, so hopefully i will be able to save myself a bit of money there!

Just looking at my to do list from a few days ago, and i havent done anything on the list!
In all fairness, i am waiting until i need to go shopping at Lidl to drop things off at the recycling centre, as they are next door to each other, and that will save petrol.
But the rest of the stuff i really need to get on with. In fact, i am going to call the DWP now to sort out the DD.
  • Cleggie well done on finishing your course / exams!:j (sorry I'm a bit late:o)
I was wondering if you're any good at gardening too as my friend took early retirement about two years ago and he cuts the grass, weeds a bit and pops in the odd plant for a collection of elderly residents near where he lives and he could be full time if he wanted to be. Lots of demand among the elderly who aren't ready to give up their gardens but can't manage on their own - some would be happy to supervise (chat) you through it if you aren't knowledgeable and they love the company.

My DM would love a gardener (even a few hours here & there) as she's got a huge garden & it's getting too much for her - having spent the last 20 years bringing it back to life (you should've seen it when we moved in:eek:) and putting her heart & soul into it, it's heartbreaking for her to think it'll slip back. They're in a very rural area where they are and they just can't find anyone ....:(

    Hi SL.
Thanks for checkin up on me :)
I am having a bit of a miserable time at the moment, nothing too bad, but a change of medication has left me feeling incredibly down.
I'll soon snap out of it though, i am sure.

A bit too scared to check my OLB because my spending is always bad at times like this :( BUT i guess i should face it.

    How is everyone else doing?
