    Hi SL.
Thanks for checkin up on me :)
I am having a bit of a miserable time at the moment, nothing too bad, but a change of medication has left me feeling incredibly down.
I'll soon snap out of it though, i am sure.

A bit too scared to check my OLB because my spending is always bad at times like this :( BUT i guess i should face it.

    How is everyone else doing?

Good to hear from you. Pennygrabber's had a quiet few days too but she is back posting and positive on the June GC - all three of us seem to have been through a spendy phase.

Rising is around as Maisie had her op (and is at her P's to recuperate) so Rising has had a bit more time for the forums than of late.

My May GC flushed itself down the toilet and I've just had my third heavy week's spend. I can't work out what has happened yet but I will!

Loads of new people on GC May and June. It's a bit different to when I started in Jan - the mood is different. Spiggle is also on the MFW12 board and is maintaining the spreadsheet of overpayments so too busy to post regularly and Rosieben seems to have disappeared for the moment. Elsiepac is back after six weeks absence so they are around.

Chin up - you could try recording the positives like PG does - she always says it helps her to get positive again.

    Take care

Thanks Sl, you are a star.
Yep, i think i'll do the positive lists too (hope PG doesnt mind!).

    Todays positives:
    - Finally checked OLB- not as bad as i thought!
    - Avoided the SM- wanted to go and buy a veggie read meal from Mr T, but am making a curry as we speak, using sweet potatoes and carrots :)
    - Caught up with loads of washing whilst the kids are away
    - Had a lovely lie in until 10am!!
  • Rising is around as Maisie had her op (and is at her P's to recuperate) so Rising has had a bit more time for the forums than of late.

:rotfl:Love it SL! Yup, I've managed to grab a bit more forum time while she's away - she has her last check up on Friday & should hopefully be home at the weekend:j so I may be back to short bursts again after that!:rotfl: (Just need to pay for it now )

Thanks for the GC update - I've also noticed the tone seems to be slightly different and can't quite put my finger on why .... I missed most of May's:o (fell behind - honestly if you can't read that one everyday, you just get lost! Great the thread's so busy but .....) and pretty sure I'll have missed something important! Thought I hadn't seen Spiggle around for a while & I know Rosieben did reappear (although it seems briefly) after the family wedding.

Anyway, Cleggie sorry to hear your a bit down & hope the new meds stabalise soon (always takes a while for your body to readjust) - the positives thing is a great idea - I used to do this when I started my diary but it seems to have fallen behind again .... must start again!:)

Hi Cleggie, sending hugs from across the Tamar. Sorry you're still feeling a bit rubbish. Are the kids over at their dad's now? That prob doesn't help, it's too quiet without them in the house. I was a right idiot, didn't book kennels in time for our weekend away so DH took the kids away for 2 nights camping in a friend's garden. Tbh, probably did them all good as he doesn't spend much time (for that read any!) on his own with them. But it was the first time I'd been without them all for 10 years!!

I'm another that can't get into the GC at the moment. Again, don't know why. Think it does need a lot of commitment to keep up with it and unless you check in every day you've no idea what's going on.

Have a good week, try and do some fun stuff. If it stops raining that is!!

    Hello Cleggie - don't forget me, I'm here too!:p

I must agree, it's hard keeping up with the GC at the moment - it goes so fast, and if you miss a couple of days then it takes an eon to catch up. Also noticed not the same, and really don't know why. Anyway, I only have £10 left of June GB and still have 18 days to go:eek:, so really need to try and eat out of cupboards/freezers.

Have you booked your holiday yet? If so, where you going? That will hopefully lift your spirits and give you something to look forward to. Maybe just have a look at the website of some holiday destinations and just looking at the sun will lift your spirits.

Take care :grouphug:and hopefully you'll be back to your old self.

    Hi everyone.
Thank you all so much for your ovely words and encouragment. I am feeling a bit better today :)

My GC budget is going reasonably well. I agree with the GC going very quickly. I dont seem to be able to keep up with it to be honest. i think it just goes to show how many people are struggling financially at the moment.

I am still waiting for the passports to be returned ( i have mine, just waiting for the kids), so will be booking the holiday asap once i have them back.
I dont care where we go, it'll be whatever last minute cheap deal i can get- probably Spain or Turkey.

I need to design and order the leaflets/business cards, so i might look into that today and see how i get started.

Hope you are all having a good day, and enjoyed the nice ong weekend?
The kids are home with me now, which is nice as i missed them loads! I need to go shopping in Mr T today, to get some value chocolate and a lemon and a few other bits and bobs to do baking.

I have defrosted some chicken drumsticks to roast for dinner, with rice and salad, so thats all sorted.

    Good morning everyone!
As you will be able to see from the GC, i have been having a bit of a baking marathon!
Have made loads of bits and bobs now, so that'l be it for the week i think!

I am feeling much more positive today, and am sorting out my budget again, after ruining it over the last few weeks.

my main plan is to spend as little as humanly possible!

I read your GC posts and was temporarily drawn into the baking thing and made Twink's Hobnobs. Oh Dear... 5 got broken when I was removing them from the baking sheets and seamlesslessly disappeared. They are delicious but a bit too irresistable so when DH goes to see his Mum later he will be taking some HM biscuits as a small gift. We also kept them secret from DS who was working until midnight but he will def spot them today. In future these will be a treat only and a half quantity recipe.

It's good to hear you picking up your mood. Have a good remainder of the holiday with the kids

Hi Cleggie, great to hear you're feeling brighter. I'm about to go over to the grocery challenge next. Got to keep the costs down for the next couple of weeks as DH is owed money by one of the businesses he does extra days for and I'm desperately trying to build up my emergency/car/everything else funds so don't want to take any money out of my pots!!

All got put into perspective though as 2 different sets of friends are having a rough time of it, so am feeling less stressed by our financials.

I'm going to make bread pudding later, I save all the 'ends' from the hm bread and stick them in the freezer til I've got a bag full. Might have to widen the doors in this house if I carry on baking!

    Have a fab weekend.
