Mmm, Bread Pudding! My Mum's old recipe must be somewhere. It's my preferred use of old bread but I've never thought of freezing it...
    Thanks Barbeduk

    Hi everyone :)

STILL waiting for the kids passports to arrive! I hope it doesnt take too long.
Have done my baking for the week now, hopefully it'll last the whole week as i am attempting to spend a max of £10 until Friday next week.
Apparently i am able to sign on at the jobcentre now, as uni has finished and i dont have a job.
Not sure if i want to, to be honest! I know that i now have no income, but the thought of claiming benefits isnt nice really, especially since i was hoping (however naively) that i woud be able to get a job once i had a degree.
I guess the main problem isnt finding a job, its finding childcare for my youngest!
Hence the reason i really want to become SE, as i could do most of my work during the days when the kids are at school.

Does anyone know if i woud be able to claim tax credits (working and child) once i start being SE?

    Hi SL.
Thanks for checkin up on me :)
I am having a bit of a miserable time at the moment, nothing too bad, but a change of medication has left me feeling incredibly down.
I'll soon snap out of it though, i am sure.

A bit too scared to check my OLB because my spending is always bad at times like this :( BUT i guess i should face it.

    How is everyone else doing?

I feel for you - new meds are hard to get used to. Hope you're doing better now. :grouphug:

Yep, i think i'll do the positive lists too (hope PG doesnt mind!).

Of course I don't mind!! If I have an idea that helps me, and then helps someone else, then it's doubly pleasing for me!! Just hope it helps you as much as it's helped me.

    Hi Cleggie,

Yes you can claim tax credits when you are self employed and HMRC have some quite straightforward guidance on their website to explain what you need to do. Be aware that you will be adjusting up or down to reflect your profits so you need to manage it actively but they have put some effort into making it easier than it used to be.

This page talks specifically about being self employed but it is well worth reading up on the whole system

Thanks for that link SL, i am spending the majority of today sorting it all out, reading up on what to do in regards to SE etc, so thats really handy.

Had a lovely long sleep, and have woken up feeling all refreshed and raring to go :)

It's amazing how good one feels when you have enough sleep! (And vice versa, how the world feels like too much when you haven't...)

Hope you manage to sort out all of your tax-type things today, and make sure you take a little bit of time to chill too! Even if it's just a quick run around the woods.

Let us know how you do!

    Hi guys :)

I cant escape from the house today, as my poorly car is in the garage. I have been told that i need new brake pads..i have no idea how much thats going to cost...hopefully not much as i cant afford it!!

I will be making loads of Millies cookies today, as the kids are going mad for them!! They are really starting to moan that we dont have any food, but i think that they mean rubbish junk food, so its tough.

I have defrosted some bacon to use, but not sure what to do with it for tonights dinner. Will be looking on the GC recipes to find something (but not carbonara, as we hate it). Any suggestions for me?

Dont think i am doing too badly with my budget this month so far, so am feeling positive about that.

How do the medals work Cleggie - do you know? Can't help on the bacon front, as all I can do is bacon rolls. Suppose a quiche could be the order of the day - I know not very adventurous, but that I am afraid is the extent of my cooking ability (and I can't even make them tbh:D)
