Don't worry, it'll be fine. Those needy puppy days pass and they're just fab to have around. Our boy spends most of his time when we're all home being cuddles and kissed! He's left 4-5 hours a day but sleeps most of the time we're out. Have you thought about a puppy crate?
Our friend's have had a puppy for about 3 months now and she's lovely, you can see how much she's grown up over that time.
With ours we exercise him as much as we possibly can, keeps them much calmer. I think a tired dog is a happy dog!
Good luck.Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

I'm sure it will get better Cleggie. Look at how well behaved re the sleeping & toilet training that it is already and he /she is only young. As it gets bigger it will provide protection to you & the kids and will also be a valued member of your family.
Unfortunately we had our own little intruder last night - a fox we presume. We had a rabbit which was getting on a bit which shared it's hutch very happily with a guinea pig and this morning we discovered that both have gone. The hutch door was still locked but the mesh wiring on top of the connecting run has been pushed in. Both my kids are upset, my son in particular. It would seem we have no pets now as our hamster only died a little while ago so I know that once they have got over this, the kids will be on a nagging mission to get something else. xGrocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0 -
It was a rushed decision I guess. Oh well I'm sure he will be very happy with the lady who has him now. It sounds like a lovely environment for him. Did you get any of your money back?
I think I need to start thinking about a savers stamp card for xmas. Can't believe how quickly this year is going. Do all of the big supermarkets do them, do you know?Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0 -
Hi Cleggie, don't feel too bad about the pup. Perhaps try again once you're feeling safer. Really recommend rehoming an older dog.
Well done on the cake, I love baking as it calms me down!! Just made the all in one apple cake from GC thread, it was really easy and very yummy.Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

Hi Cleggie - We will support you, whatever you decide. Better to return him now than when he is settled.
Take some time to reflect and focus on small things to improve your confidence. The constabulary HQ website will have advice on better securing your property (5-lever mortice locks instead of 2 or 3 lever on older properties is one area you could consider) and you should be able to look up a local locksmith who will advise on cost efficient options. Not sure if you rent or own your place but some basic security measures will boost your confidence, and if you have a landlord they will likely support you and maybe pay all or at least part.
We looked into a burglar alarm at our last house but the movement detection ones with cats are pretty unreliable or v expensive and can quickly p*** off your neighbours if they are not working as expected so that may be a no. Our last house had a dummy box installed at the front but make sure it has a bell and a wire or it is obviously a dummy!
Another option may be neighbourhood watch. Let your local group know and ask if they can be a bit nosey (if you don't mind) - it's a balance. Our retired neighbour opposite is better than any alarm and we were lucky enough to have a similar neighbour two houses ago. I was locked out and by the time I had broken a window and climbed in he and the police had arrived to find out what was happening
It does get better in time
Best wishes

Hi Cleggie, glad to hear you're improving the security on the house, sounds like money very well spent to me!
We've just had the quote for the new boiler. It is, of course, far more than we've managed to save but I can't put up with luke warm showers for much longer so we're going to have to bite the bullet. Luckily he can't start for a while anyway so it's frugal living for us for in the meantime!
I'm with you on the shopping, need some spices and rolls then that's me til fri. Realised that I hate SM shopping now, it's so boring! Just keep me away from waitrose, think I could spend the month's budget in one go!
Have a good week.Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

Hi guys.
i just want to say thanks to you all for the help and advice you have given me on this thread, and others too.
Without the support i have had, i dont think i would have made it this far into getting rid of most of my debt, or keeping track of my finances.
I'm not going to be posting anymore, but i am sure that i can apply everything that you have all taught me (fingers crossed!!) for the forseeable future, and i am determined not to get into anymore debt, and mange my finances even BETTER!!
Take care all.0 -
