In New York are they not banning foods high in trans fats soon or something? Whats going to happen to KK there![FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

The problem is simply the shelf life. Trans fat makes it easier for them to pre bake them store them and reheat before serving. It's cheaper and easier to use transfat as that (despite it's damaging effects on the brain Altzheimer's and Fertility) allows them to make the product months ahead of need and then serve it up as freshly made.
Of course they can make them just as easily without trans fats. It just makes more profit to do it the lazy way and sod the consequences on their clients who are too stupid to care.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

No, I care about having the last laugh
But seriously, if you want to discuss the ins and outs of trans fats and my health from eating the occasional doughtnut, then start a thread in DT.
Otherwise, lets leave this argument here as it is a KK thread, not a health thread.

If you intend to eat them, try and visit a proper Krispy Kreme store (the nearest to me is Rayne's Park). While you queue they will likely give you a free glazed donut, when you get to order try and get the Double Dozen Deal (if you can say it). Don't take the pre-made boxes, they've been out a while - choose your own and they'll be fresher (insist they take from the back not the front). It's about £16.95 I think and you're supposed to get a dozen you choose yourself and a dozen regular glazed BUT if you get a new person on the till they may give you two proper mixed dozens by mistake.
Take them into work - everyone will thank you for it. Don't try these tricks at the Waterloo station concourse (by platform 3): they're too long in the tooth to fall for it and the selection is too small.0 -

Whether or not you think it is ethically appropriate to offer high trans fat treats to people who may be wanting to concieve is for you to judge, I'm sure you don't mind setting someone on the path to cancer, multiple scelerosis, diverticulisis and obesity, this presumably is something you will regard as a good laugh. I expect some would also consider it fine to press alcohol on someone with a drink driving history or fags on someone who is trying to give up.
You think I should get a life.

The Krispy Kremes in Tesco shops (most central London Tesco Metros have a KK stand) are cooked every morning and delivered straight away. They're not quite as fresh as the Harrods/Selfridge's ones but are still super duper.
My favourite is the raspberry filled one. Mmmm.
I had a coffee from the Watford Krispy Kreme Café (attached to Tesco Extra) which was vile. the donut was amazing though.0
