KKs are the best!! Cannot be beaten and are well worth an occasional trip to Brum which is out nearest outlet (in Selfridges). DIVINE and totally unlike any other donut.
    Stop looking for answers....

Can you please explain what it is that people find special about them. I am genuinely perplexed as to what their appeal is. To me, they are pleasant enough but nothing special and they don't warrant the price. The taste is nothing out of the ordinary and neither is the texture.

I got two dozens of them, giving some to friends and kept some in the fridge and had it the next day. They were still very soft.

Same as you I didn't find them especially tasty but then I think other donuts won't stay soft after a day in the fridge.

Taste like they've been standing around a while and very sickly.

Don't get me wrong, I like doughnuts, but these are processed rather than fresh.
Now if they cooked them on the spot, still being hot and fresh, had sugar coating rather than that awful glaze, then I would end up being 50 stone :rotfl: :D

If you go to their franchise store, they cook the donuts at spot. Haven't tried it fresh though.

I had 1 last year when I visited London, it was ok. But I wouldn't buy a tray! they did seem expensive for what you get, I'm happy with the freshly baked instore from asda/tesco or Greggs.

Doughnut lovers are between a rock and a hard place.
Doughnuts are typically fried, and are sometimes coated with frostings made with oils that are either saturated (like palm) or trans-laden (partially hydrogenated).
A single (200-calorie) Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnut, for example, serves up 4 grams of trans fat and 3 grams of saturated fat. That’s a third of a day’s worth of bad fat.

Worse yet, each Krispy Kreme Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnut deposits 6 grams of trans plus 5 grams of sat fat into your artery walls and 350 calories into your storage tank. Not a pretty picture.

It's no wonder we are suffering an infertility epidemic

Yes, they are truly horrifying. I don't eat much donuts, but if I am to eat donuts, chocalates or ice-cream etc., I will try to eat the good quality ones only as I don't want to waste those precious quotas on rubbish dessert.

Hmmmm Krispy Kremes!! The original glazed donut is the best one. If you bad sweet tooth like myself, try the maple-syrup glazed donut. Yum. I'm drooling as i type. I can eat about 3 in succession before feeling a bit icky.
If you have tried and liked M&S's or Icelands Yum-Yums (donut twists with frosted sugar), then you will luuuurve KKs.
I haven't had a fresh one hot off the donut-maker, but will definitely add that on my list of things to do before I die!!
  • these donuts have to be the biggest money spinner ever lol.talk about the emperors new clothes scenario.the do have a shed load of flavours granted but imho the glazed donuts from sayers (4 for a quid) taste no worse, just different.just because it costs more doesnt mean its better.rules to live by :)
