Me neither
Don't like anything about them at all!! Far too sweet and sickly and no texture at all. Gimme a jammy doughnut from Greggs anytime!!:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:AThinks Naughty Things Too Much Clique Member No 3, 4 & 5

mmmmmm, donuts..... Tesco's in Slough has a Krispy Kreme, and I'd suggest the sprinkle topped ones and the raspberry or custard filled kind. They're all pretty good though, and it is amazing how quickly a dozen disappear.Debts 2004: £6000..............................................Aug 2007: £0!!!!0

Agree 100%.
Taste like they've been standing around a while and very sickly.
Don't get me wrong, I like doughnuts, but these are processed rather than fresh.
Now if they cooked them on the spot, still being hot and fresh, had sugar coating rather than that awful glaze, then I would end up being 50 stone :rotfl::beer: Lawe :wave:0 -
They are nice when they are hot off the line in Harrods.
Very sweet, sickly and expensive though!

I think it is all a question of taste and availability.
If you cant get them "up North" then somehow they taste better when you travel to get them.
Also if you are in the queue at Harrods they often give you a free one - which kinda more than satisfies the appetite. We all evolve - get on with it0 -
You haven't really tasted a real doughnut til you've tried a Krispy Kreme - all those years I suffered soggy or dry doughnuts until that magical day I tasted heaven. :j
Colleague bought a box of them into the office the other day as it was his birthday - all the colours under the rainbow (and even a Homer special - chocolate coated with sprinkles!)
My fav is chocolate covered with creme or custard filling...oh baby come to papa! <drools>"I am not Geoff Vadar, I'm Darth Vadar"0 -
Don't forget, if you go in when the 'hot light' is on, you should get a 'trial' original glazed for free (usually warm from the fryer) now THAT is what KK is all aboutPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Trust me KK doughnuts are the best. I was originally sceptical about them expecially when its not cheap. After trying one all other doughnuts are lame.
The original glazed ones are the best. They just melt in your mouth.
If you wanna try a free sample, just pop to the store in Harrods and they will hand over one as they come off the conveyor belt.
I would choose these over any supermarket or Greggs doughnuts, even if its more expensive.0 -
IF a trip to the big smoke actually warrants seeking out some lardy yankee doughnuts, I tell ya' there must be some bloaters living outside of London,
I guess deep-fried Mars Bars just don't hit the spot anymore?
Doris & Bertha were elated to disembark from the 14.15hrs train from Wakefield, "To pot with London's museums, galleries & culture", they exclaimed....."let's hang out at the Krispy Kreme outlet on the station's concourse!"

Doughnut lovers are between a rock and a hard place.Doughnuts are typically fried, and are sometimes coated with frostings made with oils that are either saturated (like palm) or trans-laden (partially hydrogenated).
A single (200-calorie) Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnut, for example, serves up 4 grams of trans fat and 3 grams of saturated fat. That’s a third of a day’s worth of bad fat.
Worse yet, each Krispy Kreme Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnut deposits 6 grams of trans plus 5 grams of sat fat into your artery walls and 350 calories into your storage tank. Not a pretty picture.
