Morning All
V tired today - eldest went out last night and I couldn't go to bed till I knew he was home - which sadly was 1.45am !!!! He wasn't drunk & only had 2 pints ...... At least that's what I think he said as I could barely understand a word he was slurring :rotfl:
He's a good kid & quite sensible but I just wish he would text me when he is going to be so late. He is up tidying his room already pretending he isn't hung over .....
Gone a bit off the rails (again) this last week & let things slip again ! So back to it today. Ex came out yesterday ..... Moan , moan , moan that's all he does - it wears me out. In the end , eldest went up on his PC , youngest went out & I tidied upstairs - when will the penny drop ???!!!! If he tried to be a bit more cheerful - they wouldn't mind being around him - and he has the nerve to say this house drags him down ??!!
Right off to do some housework & washing , have to earn my TV time tonight ! And need to brave myself & check the bank - haven't done this since tues .... Gulp.

:j well that's Monday done !!!
Plucked up courage & checked bank ... It could be worse I think I have covered everything & I have £400 to last me nearly 3 weeks - that's not too bad really. I have several fuel vouchers , £10 off first sainsburys shop & a couple of £2.00 Morrison vouchers so with careful planning (& a bit of Aldi!) should be ok !
I did my usual & took my eye off the ball 1st week of the month but, not too much damage done considering I had 4 family bdays and school uniform to buy
Been keeping on top of housework (sort of) and generally feeling a bit more in control. I have gained a few pounds (which isn't a bad thing !) but does mean my clothes are a little "snug" !!! Never mind it's bonus next month so will allow £50 for bits for me !
Need to fill in income details for sec loan , do some surveys , and sort some eBay stuff out this week. Also need to clear out car , check oil & water etc & sort out recycle stuff .... So that should keep me busy for a day or two !

Why are boys so lazy ???!!!
It was a simple question ....."have you tried your blazer on & does it still fit ok ?" ...... Answer "yeah it's fine mum " .... So its not my fault that he has gone off to school looking like he is wearing a straight jacket is it :rotfl:

I've been away with work so have missed the last week or so. I'll catch up tomorrow if I'm not too jet lagged.
I just got back and although I don't feel tired I must try and sleep and get myself back in to a normal routine again. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Hi Masonn - hope it was a good trip ?
You havent missed much to be fairits a bit dull around here at the moment ! And I have been a bit rubbish lately.
Lifes a bit "flat" at the moment - I need some excitement
Last week I approached the whole "food" thing a bit differently and it seemed to work. I bought my basics and meal planned for me and youngest. Eldest is very fussy, so I left £20 in the budget and if he fancied anything that wasnt on the menu - I picked it up as I went/needed it. I didnt spend as much (as I didnt buy the "just in case stuff" - and it worked quite well. I only spent £13.00 of the £20.00 - so £63 all in. its a strange way to do it - but is saved me ££ and I didnt have to throw away unused food ? So it worked in a roundabout kind of way
The hardest thing for me - has been getting out of the habit of doing a "big shop" on a Saturday (which I have always done for years) once I got past this mindset, it seems to be working.
Have done a few surveys and kept up with rounding account, so just need to find some enthusiasm generally really !
Filled in and set back expenditure details for Sec Loan - so lets wait and see what they have to say. They also confirmed that they have escalated the PPI issue as a complaint so hopefully, I might hear something about that this week
Quiet weekend planned (generally because I have no spare money!) buts lots to do around the house to keep me busy so at least it will be productive !
Hope everyone has had a good week.

Hi Coco, yes it was a great trip, got loads done work wise and enjoyed the evenings too with people I haven't seen in person for quite a while.
I'm glad to be home though, it's a bit hectic, meetings all day then trying to consume your own body weight in alcohol each night while putting the world to rights with old friends :A

I quite agree about the shopping. when you do a big weekly shop you tend to get enough meals plus a few extras that give scope for variations, in case you change your mind.
Then you always seem to buy a few other bits, just in case, and then there's always the odd luxury that gets thrown in the trolley.
I've started buying as I need things, I'm lucky that there's a small Morrisons in the village and it's close enough to walk to. I've found that I'm spending a lot less and wasting a lot less and the need to go more often gets me out of the house and gets me some fresh air and exercise at the same time. :A
I've got to go later, I need milk, bread and a few other basics now I'm back.
As for the weekend, I'm planning on a quiet one too, I need to recover after a week of hotel living and eating out every night.
I hope the sec loan people see sense and you get the outcome you want although I suspect their opening 'offer' will probably won't be. They won't want to give anything up without a fight so be prepared for some wheeling and dealing. Go and see the CAB for some help if needed, they should know all the tactics and how to respond. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
well what a strange day !
It was my bday yesterday - because I am broke my friend came down tonight for some wine. For her , because I may have to drive later !! Eldest is out on the town & tho he has arranged a taxi back with friends - I won't have a wine just in case. My friend had to dash off early & the youngest is shut in his room for a sleepover .... Not quite the wild weekend I had planned :rotfl:
Bits & pieces shop today & put some petrol in, that was it for spends. Should be doing something productive really but am going to read my book whilst I wait up .......... Rock & Roll

Eldest got home @ 4am ...... Had a great night it seemsbut we are going to be having words later !
Sleepover gang were up till 4.30 ....... When I lost the plot a bit & it all went quiet rather quickly .....:D
Right I need a cup of tea - so I am off down to check the devastation ...... Back later
