Well I posted in mortgage forum .... Blimey - some very sound advice (tho my knees are trembling a bit :o )
But - it could be the secured loan may be the key here - because whilst it is secured as a 2nd charge it's personal finance ?
    Anyway , lots to think about .... It's a good job I don't cry easily ....

    Hi Coco114

Just wanted to say hang in there! Have been following this thread for a while and just had a read through your thread on the mortgage forum. Just remember that not everyone on the mortgage forum will have read this thread so even though a lot of the advice is useful, admittedly some of the replies come across a bit harsh. Good luck with sorting everything out!

Oh coco I've been following your posts since you started, I think you're an inspiration. We ell done so far have no idea whether you're making the right decision re mortgage and secured loan and due to circumstances I no longer have a mortgage but sounds like you're on the right track with recent advice! Please please dont be too nice to ex, trust me (I was once a nice person, honest!) my ex kept promising money then I grew a pair and went to csa and he kept promising money then he left his job and went to the other side of the world and guess what no money! Oh silly me:( sadly no money 2 at uni 2 at home and one at home with mental health issues since going to stay with ex! tbh think he had him down as some sort of tracey beaker figure as he hadn't seen him for four years! anyway your positive attitude is certainly keeping me going! ps good luck with pants man :rotfl: kate x

Bless you Dolphin - thanks :)
Have to be honest , I am in bits tonight (prob Pmt lol !)
The advice I have been given is sound - yes there are more cuts I can make but , it still seems very unfair to me & I have to be honest
If the situation were reversed I would give every penny I could - I am just finding it difficult to understand really ?

Never mind , I am sure it will all look different tomorrow :)
But today I have learnt one thing which is a very important lesson , being nice, pleasant , reasonable & decent has got me nowhere....

    Thanks again :)

Maganan - thanks for that - seems you are a bit of an inspiration yourself :)
Am really cross at myself today. Also , had a major run in with eldest tonight - it's all my fault , I need to get a grip etc - he doesn't mean it but it really hurts you know ?
Anyhow , mrs positive will be back tomorrow I am sure - but , I think it will be mrs angry positive ... Maybe that's what I need ;)

This is good advice. You are separated now - too late to be sympathetic and sentimental. You really do have to put yourself and the kids first now.

You can hire Rug Doctor for about £40 I think.

Chin up Coco I know it's hard - just think of all the good things that are just waiting to happen to you (pants man or not :rotfl:).

Thanks Poles - that was just what I needed this morning :)

Yesterday started really well but ...... Ended awful - I cried for the first time in a long time - runny nose & everything :rotfl:
Had big cuddle with youngest & eldest apologised profusely as he thought he was the entire reason for my tears bless him. He is such a good kid but , like his dad , hits low & hard emotionally ocassionally & I don't cope very well !

Anyway , today will be better I am sure. Pouring with rain here so a home day I guess. We are going to make flapjacks & a curry for dinner tonight :) back to work tomorrow , yuk , but at least only a short week !!
Got to get the ball rolling now. Need to email housing officer & update situation. And I need to draft a letter to mortgage comp & ask they wait for shortfall till end of month - that's all I can do for now :)

Rug doctor sounds like a good plan .....

    Enjoy your day everyone

Coco, just wanted to say I have been following your posts since the beginning and you really are an inspiration. Despite everything your positivity shines through and that in itself helps other people.

In terms of what's happening just now, it's good that you've had a good old cry. Better out than in as my gran used to say!:rotfl:
Seriously though, keep your chin up. We are all here for you. Things will get better even although it might not seem like it at the moment. You have a fabulous relationship with your boys; they will see you through.

Hope today is a better day.

    Thanks K :)

A couple of little developments - eldest came down & said he was going to talk to his Dad about paying more cOS it's not fair. I told him that his dad is well aware of the situation but I cannot force him to pay more. The answer I got was "well if he can afford a new car he can afford to pay" .... I was a little speechless but very proud of him.
I guess they are slowly making their own minds up here - it's such a shame but he only has himself to blame. So will see what he has to say to eldest ? Youngest just came bounding down the stairs & asked if we could start packing yet cos he is fed up with his "poxy" bedroom :rotfl:
God bless the pair of them :)

Sorry for all the whining - but if I didn't do it on here I think I would go mental !!

Right - making flap jacks is great .... But not if they polish off the whole bloody lot in one go !!!! Lol
