  • Welcome to the forums, trying to tackle debt is always a major headache but I personally found that writing about it was a very helpful way. Why not try setting up your own blog and chart the progress of your debt free struggle. It can be an excellent way to talk through your problems and help someone else in a similar set of circumstances. Who knows, you may even be able to post adverts to your blog posts and start generating revenue. All the best

Thanks DFG - I see you are a new comer too , hope you are getting along ok. Yes I defiantly need to generate some more income so that may be worth thinking about, I need to do something. I want to graduate from debt free wannabe to getting debt free at some point !
Looking forward to the day I can start crossing the numbers off :)

  • Yep I'm a newbie in the forums here too, but I've gone through the journey of achieving debt freedom and know that it's not an easy road.

I really hope it all works out for you. Just remember that no matter how big or overwhelming your debt, that each pound you pay off is a step closer to financial freedom.

    All the very best

Brizzle thanks for that - I now have 2 watchers ! How exciting :)
Once I get my first sale I know it will become an addiction .... Have to find more stuff to sell.
I made it with my £5.00 still intact, first stop tomorrow will have to be petrol - even fumes are nearly out now !
My target for May is to end up with a £100 float in the bank by the end if May - if I can achieve that I will be very happy and know I can defiantly do this.
Kids have been fantastic - I was right to cut back slowly & still allowing room for the odd treat , they barely seem to have noticed :)
It's now becoming a challenge to not spend any money which I guess is the whole point !
    Have a good week all.

Ps , have paid off a teeny , tiny debt this month £89. Not much but it's a start. The next one is £135 - which I want to do by end June.

Oh I now have 4 watchers with 2 days to go ... Hopefully they will start bidding soon !
Have my £10 off Tesco voucher & £10 off first online sainsburys
Shop as well so that will help.
Have set up a DD for my highest APR - it's only £300 and will take me 6 months to pay off but at least that will be one debt gone :) bearing in mind I didn't think I could pay mortgage etc I am quite pleased with that ...... All I have to do now is stick to the budget !!!
Hope you are all having a good week.

Was going for 3rd NSD , but sadly - need to get cat food , teabags , bread etc ! Ah well never mind :)
Have 2 bids now but , realised I have made a mistake .... Put item on 0.99 p bid - should have put it on with a reserve amount £ - doh !!! Well lesson learnt I guess - will see if it goes about £2.00 - if not someone's getting a bargain !
Stupid argument with ex earlier - have decided to be grown up about it though - so waited till he left before I called him a **** :) what an idiot !
Bank balance is correct , chqs sent off & bills paid - and its nearly the weekend :)
Might treat kids to pizza , they have been so good bless them !

eBay takes some getting used to but, if £2 is the absolute minimum you want something to go for, start it at £2. Reserves are really for bigger things and it costs money to put a reserve on something, I believe. I generally start at 99p and wait for things to find their own level. Also, search for the item you are selling first to see what they generally go for. For example I have just sold a stamp pack. Looked it up, they sell for about £4. But you could use the stamps, so I started at £2 and, funnily enough, they went for £4. Hope that helps.
  • Hi
I agree with you, I would go mad without my part time job, even though the more you work, the more money the gvt seem to take from you.

I'm married have three kids, mountain of debt and also doing degree in spare time ( whatever that is :p). Can;t seem to get sorted with anything let alone money. And these forums are really difficult to get your head round. I keep losing my post!!

hopefully this one will work !

Debt so far £9300. hopefully shrinking soon
