    I honestly don't know.

I always thought it was a cliche when people said that since they retired they'd never been busier, it isn't.

My life seems to be zipping passed me on fast forward.

As well as the pure enjoyment there have also been more tangible benefits. All of the sailing, archaeological digging and generally being outside doing stuff and not sitting behind a desk has meant that I'm loads fitter than I've been for years and I've lost a load of weight. In four months I went from a 44" inch waist to a 34" waist. I'm now the same size as I was at Uni all those years ago and I've not been anywhere near a gym. :j

On the down side, non of my clothes fit so I've had to replace everything from the boxers outwards.

My girlfriend now says that I look like somebody owns me again. Although strictly speaking I'm not supposed to go shopping without a responsible adult. :o

Tonight I'm taking the guitar to the weekly jam session with friends. Last week the bass player brought a girlfriend along who can sing, we are starting to sound a lot like a band!

I'm not supposed to go near guitar shops either without a responsible adult. They're all ganging up on me, girlfriend, ex wife and daughter, apparently 12 guitars is enough for anyone. I don't agree, guitars are like T shirts, you can never have too many. :A

Welcome Anita!!! I can't believe you ploughed through that little lot!! ☺
Mr T I love your posts !! Playing guitar, bands, slimline..... Having a ball by the sounds of it!!

And so its Friday .... Normally I am buzzing but today I feel a bit like this Its been a rubbish week work wise, got into heated arguments with boys about being lazy , it makes me want to cry with frustration that we have to have ructions over such basic things ?!?! Normally I get over it pretty quickly , but its nothing short of unfair - I need to address this.

I have a rather nasty bill to take care of & I am not quite sure how yet. My budget is OK & I normally seem to manage something I thinkj I am just a little tired of juggling, this will need some serious thought. A bit of eBay isn't really going to cut it so I may have to ask my brother for help and I don't like that. As some of you may already know, I am terrible at admitting when things aren't great, I am very proud & hate to be a burden to anyone so it doesn't come easy too admit too anyone that I need some help..... Will ponder on this.

Anyway, apologies for miserable update - just feeling it tonight. However, I won't let it spoil my weekend , it will keep until Monday!

Nothing much else to report although I did go £11 over budget in Mr T , but actually , its not the end of the world is it ?

Time for a glass of wine & put stress on hold until tomorrow :)

I'm just back from the pub, a cheap night and a lot of laughing with friends.

There will always be bills, some worse than others. They are a fact of life and we all have to deal with them as best we can.

All of us need help in some way from time to time so please do speak to your brother or someone else you trust to help you without judging you. The alternative might be something that either doesn't work well or ends up costing you more in the long run. My ex and me have always said to our children that they must never get themselves in too deep. Come and talk to us and we'll help. Fortunately there have been very few occasions when they've needed it and always only when necessary.

Hopefully your brother will be able to help you.

I had a very expensive November, I had to renew the house insurance and get an intermittent problem with the car fixed as well as try and put some extra money aside for Christmas.

I was saved from any real hardship by a couple of things.

One of my closest friends announced that they weren't buying gifts for Christmas this year, they were personalising things by making them for us. I thought it was a wonderful idea and so did everyone else as most of the important people in my life decided they'd do the same.

My other saving grace was that I spent November on one of the archaeological digs and as a result wasn't spending any money at all socially other than the odd pint and that doesn't count as it's one of life's basic food necessities.
As to the Christmas gift thing. It turned out to be the best Christmas any of us have had for many many years.

My girlfriend made Cushions for everyone, each was personalised and embroidered. Mine was for the boat and is perfect. She also did a deal with an artist friend, she made cushions for her to give as gifts in return for a painting for me of my boat, the best gift I think I've ever had. I was speechless.

My contribution was to have everyone round to mine for Christmas Dinner. I built a large Scalextric track in one of the spare rooms and we raced like children. :D It drove the cat I haven't got mad. I had to shut him in another room!

People made chutneys from home grown produce, I got some fantastic pickled beetroot and stuff. I'm afraid the home grown pickled beetroot was so good I didn't share it.

Another made fruit bowls, knife blocks and bird boxes from scrap odds and ends wood.

Most of the cost was in time rather than money and we all appreciated it the more for it.

Anyway I've rambled on too much, I blame the beer, so I hope you're feeling better and don't let it spoil your weekend.

***shyly steps from the shadows *****
    Hello All :)
Hope that everyone is well and keeping safe in these awful times?  I am back with a little update and a new challenge (but a good one!)
I am not sure if I will start a new diary, or keep on with this one.  Somehow, this was a safe place for me all those years ago and I had such amazing support, so I might stick with it.  Those who know me, know what I went through and I think, all in, the resulting debt was at £30K.......  Today, I am at about £4.5K   This has been a mix of paying off everything I could, and some of it dropping off (may as well be honest)  I cleared most of my debts and, as nobody else would contribute to joint debt, it ran its course .  I am very pleased it has come down to around £4K.  And now for the final push

My amazing, considerate, intelligent, annoying, irritating and messy boys are all gown up and one or both will be looking to move out in the next couple of years.  So, I need to clear this last bit, get an EF back up and running and start the next chapter. Out of all of the mess, they are both avid savers and will start out well prepared and financially savvy, and I couldnt be more proud of them!  Neither of them has an overdraft, credit card or loan, they save for what they want/need

So its a positive debt free journey now, the last push, clearing up the Credit Report, I am in a great place mentally, just need to get this done and get control again, so it feels right to share the final chapter on here.  I have given myself 2 years to do this.  We are still in the same house and I love it.  May look to get something smaller nearer town once boys are gone, but if I can clear my debt and get some savings, then if I decide I want to stay here, I know I can do it once I lose their rent money, if that makes any sense at all!

I have had a couple of relationships, but nobody that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, but will all fall into place at some point!

Not sure how often I will post but hope to do so regularly (and certainly have lots of gaps to fill in so logging it here will keep me organised)

And I dont think I ever changed my sig hahaha!  So ignore that for now, and I will amend to something appropriate.

More detail later, just wanted to say hello
