Kids have been closing blinds and curtains as I have opened them today, they do have sensitivities which makes it tricky but I get sick of living in darkness with windows closed all the time

Queenie, Nelski - a slurp of the red stuff tonight for medicinal reasons seems to sound good to me!

Just watched the re-run of Dancing on Ice - I just love that programme! Takes me back to my early years when I used to ogle the Murrayfield Racers when in my mid teens. Had a rude awakening a few years ago when I discovered that one of DS's friends Dad was a Racer and when I saw him bald and with a belly - thought OMG!!!!

Well done Cattie 1 - hope you are well chuffed. Always a bit disconcerting when they say they need a word but don't say what about!

Math - read about your encounter! I am not the most patient person going round with the trolley, especially if folk dither, meet long lost friends in the aisle and chat and then hold up the check-out queue!

    Congratulations!

Of course it never occurs to a boss that that sort of remark can leave the best employee worried.

I know! last time they said they wanted a word, I got a slap on the hand for something I had done wrong!
I worry myself sick when they say things like "I need to see you tomorrow!" so this was an excellent suprise!
    thankyou everyone.

    Hi everyone,

Congratulations Cattie1, well done on your promotion!

Well, I have had a lovely day. I spent most of the day, after a good lie-in and breakfast in bed with tea and toast and a book, in the garden. Yesterday we powerwashed our patio flags, They were dark and slimy with years of algae growing on them. Now they are bright and clean. I almost need sunglasses to look at them. It makes such a difference to the whole look of the place. I have also tidied up the garden, pulled some weeds, planted some bulbs that I found sprouting in the shed (well, better in the ground than in the shed I say...) even though it is very late to plant them. I suppose the worst that can happen is that they rot in the ground. Best case scenario, they grow weakly this year and come up well next spring. Anyway, I had nothing to lose.

I also learnt how to make newspaper plant pots, so I shall be using these to plant my seedlings this year, instead of buying pots.

BM has been on, WM has been on twice and one load dried on the line. 2nd load on airer indoors.

Other events, nothing much really. A no spend weekend (apart from Friday night's curry) and I have a freezer full of meals for next week. I must check whether or not I need eggs for pancake day on Tuesday. DS and I have a dentist appointment on Tuesday pm so I'll have plenty of time to make batter for pancakes.

An Englishman, Irishman and Scotsman were discussing their children. The Englishman said "My son is called George, as he was born on St George's Day." The Scotsman said "My son is called Andrew as he was born on St Andrew's Day. The Irishman said "I don't think you have met my son Pancake."

OH well, it tickled me. Apologies to any Irish people who may have been offended. :D

OH is outside washing the cars at the moment. I don't know why, but he always starts to do this when it is about to go dark.

Right, must go, I need to iron school uniform and some work clothes before the morning. I want to have it all done before Top Gear later.

    Have a good evening everyone.

    xx

Hi everyone. Gosh it's quiet on here today!
I've had my first busy day for a while. We went to church this morning and I did some interesting drama with the sunday school group. This included one of the kids acting out the part of Jesus whilst skating around on his Heelies!:rotfl: Anyway we had fun!
Then after lunch the kids played out with their friends on a variety of bikes, scooters and skateboards. I made a lovely banana/sultana loaf in the bm, stripped the beds, wrote my meal plan for the week and my shopping list for tomorrow, did some schoolwork and kept popping on ebay as most of my items end today and people keep emailing me with lots of questions about them.
We're having sausages for tea, then it will be time to make packed lunches, iron uniforms etc for the return to school tomorrow. Back to the busy life!
