    Xmas Saver!
    The good news is I was in credit at the end of the month, which for me is a miracle, then I remembered I saved some money towards car ins due start of Dec, but I had £35 left, so have transferred it to a savings account its there for emergency,

    Had a family break, just a week in Wales, but it was a nice break, and nothing was really taken for granted, budget was set, it amazes me at how much money people chuck in to the bingo games. The one we use 20p for 2 boards, even thou we went daily, the budget was £5 a visit, that was between DD and me, £1 each for Bingo then the rest in 2ps. There was one lady we sat by who was chatting and said oh i'm on my 2nd bag of change today, £10 worth of 20ps...

    Did a bit of xmas shopping, so thats coming on well, thou been getting items from Jan sales onwards to help balance the books.

    Debtwise - still chipping away, at least everything seems to be on par at the moment.

    We had DD's parents evening, shes in yr 6, they have 1 in Oct and 1 near end of term and she's doing really well work wise, just lacks some confidence, but thats understandable with whats happened.

    November seems to be full of appointments - not looking forward to the dentist - got to have 3 teeth removed.

    November -to do
    Budget planned -
    Christmas cards to be wrote
    Start wrapping xmas presents
    2 x dentist appointments
    Heath checks - doctors and clinic
    Have fun trying to sort car insurance out....
    xx
    xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    Didn't realise you have one of these, count me subscribed.

    Well done on being in credit at the end of the month, good feeling isn't it? :)

    As for bingo :rotfl:, you just reminded me of something years ago when I was a child on holiday with my parents and my father decided (as the weather was bad and we were terribly bored) to "gatecrash" a game of bingo in a hotel foyer.

    Really good to hear your daughter is getting along well at school, does she have any entrance exams this year?

    Hello from this side, - my monthly moan thread!! So nice to be in credit for once!

    I could just imagine your father with bingo! the memories they bring back

    She's got her Sats in May, then she'll go to the secondary school nearby, she's done really well, she moved school last May, she'd had hell and back from the last school, and she was dragged through cafcass for 1 yr when her sperm donor father remembered he had a daughter, it went through court for 2 yrs, he got awared indirect contact and breached the order that many times and dumped her at Christmas, she's been through more than any kid should go through so to get a good report was like winning the lottery xx

    xx

    Yes, so can I and I wish the memories where still firmly at the back of my mind, the man is an embarrassment, I tell thee. ;);)

    I had to look up some of those abbreviations. :o Glad that she's doing well and sorry to hear about the courts, sounds like a bit of a nightmare in all honesty for everybody involved.

    This morning I was thinking (always dangerous, that ;)) of all the people I've "met" through starting my own debt free journey; many of which I very much doubt I would have known in real life (good job, seen as I've told people on here all about my finances), wondering if everyone on here thinks the same.

    The abbreviations they do take some getting use to
    DD= darling daughter
    DS = Darling Son
    OH = other half

    Thinking early on a Tuesday morning - that could be dangerous - or expensive!! I'm the same, a lot of my real friends theres only 1 friend that knows the true extent of my debts and life, yet on here we all bear life and soul, its kind of weird.

    Survived the dentist - thou it hurts now - dont think helped being outside for as got DD some fireworks she loved them, back next week for 2 out...

    Can't say I've ever been one for abbreviations!

    :rotfl: It wasn't particularly dangerous or expensive, if I recall correctly. ;) Nobody other than my wife knows the extent of my debts (or even that I am in fact in debt). However, we don't have any close friends. :o

    Glad you survived the dentist but I bet you're not looking forward to next week.

    A week into November and I feel like saying help!!

    Money - what was meant to be a quick trip into Town Friday to put some cheques into the bank and have a peep, ending up being a mini Christmas shop, although if you asked my father, his description would be a few bags and i had to do a trip back to the car.

    Overspent by £60 ), - now got to borrow car ins money then plan to replace that mid month - when I had planned to go shopping.

    Dentists - had to have a tooth out Tuesday, and now got a flipping infection in the gap, my one side of my face looks like done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson, - due to go back Tuesday for 2 more teeth out - (other side) - whether he will do them, no idea...

    Good news - we've found out that the Coke Cola lorry is coming to a town about 15 miles from us, - weather permitting - DD so exicted about it.

    All my Xmas planning this week - gone out of window as planned to write cards... but productive tonight - gone through Xmas list, made a few tweeks, and made sure got a couple of spares - can reuse if not needed.

    Plus side Xmas shopping - left is dad - jogging bottoms and beer, some bits for DD and couple of odds and sods to finish off presents (bottle guniness, couple bottles beer - may sneak them on the shopping list!!)

    Hopefully can start sorting and wrapping later in the week.... xx

    I'll try, most of its done in Jan sales - but its the adds on that add up, in DD's class theres about 6 inc teacher, head, TAs, then someone else I lost track, then the family as leave them to last.
