Quick update...
Were on the home straight at last.....
When he passed, there was complications so we had to have the police and coroner involved, there was a high possibility that he needed a pm.
...
Pleased to say Monday we had a call from the GP, she would sign the death certificate - so that got sorted through today, death registered, funeral planned, and dad is now at peace at the funeral home.
...
Money wise - Mum needs to apply for a breavement grant as his life ins isn't going to cover the costs, so thats on my to do list....
...
Which this may sound mad, but it has meant that I can make a final decision about trying to apply for a DRO, as for the house as it was in joint names - go straight to mum, I only get the house when they both pass.
Money - we know theres not enough in there pot, which means I'm not going to inherit thousands in the near future,
I'll do the £1 payment again for May, then hopefully June/July onwards I can start my new debt free life... xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
So sorry for your loss.x0

Hi mum2one,

Hopefully (shes says with abaited breath), I have finally finished all the calls, it felt never ending.
Even thou I had my to-do list - I still had to add extras on, just waiting for forms to come back to us now, then more paperwork.
I don't really think anything has sunk in, whether thats coz I've had to do it all, all on my shoulders don't really know.
Got to take DD into town 2mor, shes off school at the mo, go back after half term, it was funny, I asked for some work to be done at home, she was working through this science project, I was lost at the 1st post.... took it back to school 2day (meeting with pastoral support and dep head), only turns out the science homework wasn't meant for her (yr 8) it was a gcse test paper for yr 11.
Off to say our goodbyes, we were told we could go down Thursday morning, but I dont think its fair to the funeral directors mid morning slot, and me trying to get ready, I know 2mor we will be bringing home the blanket and cushion that we sent down with him, I wanted him to be comfortable and warm. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
The funeral went off ok, it was a lovely service, hard saying the final goodbye, still feels hard, I go upstairs and expect him to be watching football on my tv.
...
1st of the month, still need to do a few more bits related to dads accounts, the hardest thing is going to be getting rid of the car, I had it for 12 yrs and when I brought the one I have now, I scraped his car and gave him mine.
...
I know this month really need to start pulling things together, plan is to start next week, with being half term, although have DD off since 10th May (lot gone on) shes back at school on Monday, trying to be there for her xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
We raised £191.90 from dads funeral, going to hospice and dogs home xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

An expensive start to the week.
The shower decided to pack in, (5yrs old), a model thats designed for wetroom / safety aspect...
We could have brought a cheaper shower, but... there would be a very strong chance of tiles being removed, elec being moved, - the potential cost never mind hassle of more tradesmen - it was quicker to get the same shower ...
With fitting £400....
Its done.
...
Finally finished sending off documents related to dad, just waiting for things to get back to us, never going to feel normal for a long time, trying to get there,
..
Not helped as got to take dog to the vets for an operation, cue massive panic, he's insured so its just £90 excess, been and took the forms to the vets, and paid them the excess, there going to bill the pet insurance direct.
The poor dog has been on starvation since 6pm, I feel so mean... he knows how to give the sad eyes and the limp on the paw... xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Got Bailey safe and sound back from the vets, he has had the growth removed as well as a toe, hes feeling pretty sorry for himself...
As now got as much as I can do sorted for mum, next week is my time to get money sorted, half way through new budget for stepchange - just got to get totals off creditors and see which way I go.. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Poor Bailey he's now sporting the fashionable lampshade collar, he's doing ok bless him, hasn't ventered out yet for a proper walk, he will start next week just going down the road.
He is certainly enjoying the power of his lampshade... moved the bed so its jammed the wardrobe so he has more room to get into bed...
On another note, my daughters father - not him his new partner has kicked off, whether its just hot air I don't know, so its lock down here, Police have been involved, see what happens.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
