It feels like an eternity that we were in Lapland, it was amazing experience, really makes me grateful for a lot.

I've gone one step closer with the gym, have my induction booked in, I know I'm not going to be a gym bunny / fitness freak.... but anything is a bonus.

I'm hoping to get a few bargains in Boots sale, all help in the presents stage....

It seems to be an organising / money spending start to the month, I hit the Boots sale and have managed to get a lot of items for bdays and Xmas, taken a lot of the pressure off the wallet..

Money wise - Dec/Jan is the worst 2 months

My car Ins - pd it as a one off..saevd £100 by shopping around

    House wise.
House - buildings and contents - shopped around - saved £120 (based on renewal)
Gas / boiler service etc.. renewal £260... after a call offered 20% off £215... but shopped around - paid £115... I know its the intro offer but even if its just this yr saves well.

With all the savings meant we have been able to continue paying them as a one off...

Money wise - I keep an eye on parents bank account - as there not computer savvy, sort out dds, bills etc.... Clear OD £300 - aiming £50 x 6 mths, emergency fund £1000 ... £500 emergency fund no 2 ... this will be for excesses on policies..

Me - i'd along, not made any real in roads, given myself this mth to get by, as its hospital runs, touch wood think we have nxt week free, been a couple issues with school, (hopefully there sorted now).

My friend is taking me out for SUnday lunch the end of the month, to a posh hotel (she won the prize in xmas raffle)...

This is one of the hardest posts that I have had to type ... My dads cancer has progressed when they found secondary cancer last yr they gave us 12mths (24 with chemo) but we taking it at 3 mth intervals - I between times they found stomach ulcer / then after last camera (3weeks ago) we were told they found more cancer cells in his stomach - they were looking into an operation as pallatibe care (major op) was being discussed
We had the ct scan last week... Tuesday we had a call for a new appointment - they found a blockage (guessed as he couldn't eat without being sick)

When tent reviewed the ct scan and examined dad - despite them having a team on standby to operate - it wasn't possible.

Been given weeks to live xx

It seems to be one step forward 5 back, were getting there, abit very slowly.

I've finally spoke to stepchange, I've got to look at budget, but from a general conversation, they feel that a DRO - could the way to go. Its whats going to be best for the long run.

Myself I'm making myself get sorted, although slowly, it took 2 weeks, but I have the most lovely blanket/throw for dad -

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/camper-van-blanket-and-cushion-dk-knitting-pattern-/161586907172?hash=item259f548824:g:sFAAAOSw2s1U0m69

I've made mine 5 panels not the 3, looks amazing, my on the go project is this

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KINGCOLE-4323-Camper-Van-Throw-Knitting-Pattern-Not-the-finished-items-/171919857591?hash=item280738d7b7:g:C0MAAOSwqv9V6Z4b

Its the single bed (front of the Vw camper), its in pale pink with mint campervan, I'm about 4/5th way throu, its gorgeous.

As for home theres a list a mile long of things that I need to do, but I'm doing a little bit here and there...

What we have tried to do last weekend and this is have a family trip, last Sunday we took dad to feed the ducks and geese, at a mere about 30 mins away, then today we went to a falconary centre - we all fell in love with a barn owl, there was a farm shop and cafe so we stopped for a refresh. It was a lovely day xx

Sods law - just typed out a massive reply and lost it....

    Updates...

Money - the route of all evil.... reviewing my dmp with stepchange, looking at a dmp, on one hand I feel its a cop out, but on other I'd be paying for another 20 yrs..

Dad - We've had a major scare this weekend, we thought we were going to lose him on FRiday - but we got through it....
We're trying to make one of the weekend days a special memory, last weekend we went to feed the ducks, geese and swans - they use to take me as a kid and I took DD, today we went to a falconry centre, it was only small but beautiful, and then we stopped at the farm shop / cafe and had tea and icecream. It was an amazing day.

Knitting - The day dad was diagnoised - I started knitting a blanket for him, (on ebay - knitting patterns - camper van), it was meant to be a 3 panel blanket, I extended it to 5, looks amazing, took 2 weeks - labour of love - its gorgeous.

Now - making DD a bedspread (ebay - knitting pattern - camper van bedspread) - its pale pink with a mint and cream campervan - the front view. I've done 4 out of 5 panels....

    xx
