  • I joined postcode lottery in August ....then first draw entered ...wonderfully my postcode won the millions draw following month....I had purchased 2 tickets....but wait for it......what the postcode don't overtly advertise is... they don't tell you that your lottery ticket is reduced... by a concealed percentage which concealed as bonus's for whenever you join... so whenever the time of year you purchase it could reduce your winnings substantially......for eg ..if someone buys a ticket in January...then they will win the full amount determined by postcode lottery offiicials on site.....anyone else joining within the following 11 months will have their winnings reduced by an amount determined by the postcode lottery officials......There is no percentage advertised or in the small print...This is my personal experience within this so called lottery......The area prize persons within my area postcode with 1 winning ticket was £3100......my award with 2 purchased winning area prize tickets (double the cost) was £1300....Reduced by lottery officials because i joined in August instead of beginning of year (January)...Maybe i'm naive... but I thought i joined a lottery not a syndicate..especially within time of purchase & privilege....i was gutted.. as i felt buying 2 tickets for a lottery would increase my payout if i won.....and gutted that other lottery players got £3000 for only the1 ticket....just because they had joined in January.. I was awarded only £1300 for my 2 tickets...which obviously cost me double the purchase cost of 1 ticket at the time.. through direct debit on a continuous basis......anybody with kwnoledge on this stupid unaccountable anomaly with a view....is this acceptable with nothing advertised at the time of purchase unlike the national lotto whereby every ticket is a winner as per advertised prizes.......

Did you read PPL Terms and Conditions when you signed up?

  • I've received a letter in the post from the Postcode lottery which states I've won £425,000 and I don't even subscribe to this lottery??? the address on the letter is a an office in London and has the wrong post code on it. and I'm supposed to contact Blackhorse Financial management to claim my prize. ALL Sounds very dogdy to me. I'm pretty sharp when it comes to scams but even I am struggling to see what the scam is here or how to verify this letter as a fake

They will probably ask you to pay a sum of money to be able to get the prize.

You pay but no prize materialises.

Don't fall for it. I would love £425k but as you didn't subscribe to it and form what you say the Post Code is wrong it is definitely a scam.

Also you said it is from Postcode Lottery not People's PL which is the full name. Even if it is PPL I would go on the internet and search for the PPL or click here for contact details and contact them to find out. If it's not them and they pester you to buy some tickets just hang up.
I was with them until I found out I couldn't log in to check my account details. I phoned them to ask why this is they said it's technically issue. 2yrs later it still has Tech issue rubbish!!!

I played the national lottery for 3 straight years and never won a penny. After seeing the postcode lottery ads on tv and believing there is more chance of winning on there I signed up however it has now been a year and I haven't won a single dime. I have also noticed it seems to be the same postcodes winning and am now thinking this is a con.

So what are those postcodes that seem to be winning all the time?

My friend in Torquay won £5.000 and 5 other people in Torquay won £16.000 the other week.
I keep meaning to look up the small print as she said something about the longer you been playing the more prize money you get. Can't figure that bit out at all.

It is due to Loyalty Points

    What are Postcode Millions points?
Postcode Millions points (also known as bonus points) are loyalty points which mean more money for players who have played for longer.

In a Postcode Millions draw, the prize fund is shared between all the tickets in the winning postcode sector. The money is shared between players according to how many tickets they play with, and how many Postcode Millions points there are on their tickets. Players with more Postcode Millions points win a greater share of the Postcode Millions prize pot*. As soon as you start playing, you begin to accumulate Postcode Millions points and you collect more for each month of play. These points are reset at the beginning of each year.
