Beware - People's Postcode Lottery!

We only joined Postcode Lottery 3 months ago and both my wife and I have already won £1010.00. Both wins paid into our bank accounts within 48 hours. Even if we do not win any more we have won more than enough to cover our stakes for the next 8 years. Have been in the National Lottery since it began and have only ever won £165.00, I left because of the increase in the stakes.
Other forum members have posted the comment IT'S A LOTTERY and like most gambles in life -some you win some you don't!.0 -
Giving a go today. Reasoning is I love where I live at the mo and feel blessed to live there. The place makes me feel lucky
. If a small portion of the funds actually end up helping someone somewhere, perfect. Direct debit wise, played NLottery via dd too as it's less hassle. I trust that organisation no more or no less really.
Anyways, my thing is to play or don't play but for your personal reasons, post problems but also successes. Don't play if you need the £10 a month. Play if, in a years time, you won't be scraping for that £120 to pay utility bills / school meals / xmas pressies / petrol / family meals etc.
I'll be back to let you know how I go. Cheers and good luck.0 -
Hi,
Tried to register for this and found the 'Cipher' on the payments page was outdated or obsolete on Google Chrome... which means your payment info allegedly may be read / intercepted / stolen over the internet?
May be a genuine mistake and have let them know....
Hope they update it soon?............:A0 -
I play four tickets on the postcode lottery. I think I have won a prize around four times, but that was only the Sunday £10 prize per ticket game. Surely postcodes are just picked out of a hat and areas are not targeted deliberately? I've not seen many big prizes down here in Devon, although I've seen the EX postcode (Exmouth/Exeter area) come up various times for fairly big prizes, including £25,000 doorstep prize, plus the £5000 holidays as well.
The problem with doing the postcode lottery & then deciding to stop doing it is if two weeks later you see your neighbour appearing on your television holding a cheque for 250 K. On the other hand, if a street in my town came up big time then what would be the chances of my street also hitting the big bucks? I suppose there's every chance it could happen, just like the same numbers could come up twice on the lottery because it's just random.0 -
I have checked the postcode lottery winning postcodes in my area now for the last 2 months, and every day / week they continue to be DN! and then DN10, nothing in between. DN1 is the town centre and DN10 is the outskirts of Doncaster, mainly farm buildings. If that's not a fix, what is?0

I had a quick look. I couldn't see any big recent winners with a DN Post Code.
There's a long list of £10 winners here.
It lists several winners with Post Codes DN2 to DN9.
10 winners with a DN2 Post Code;
10 winners with a DN3 Post Code;
20 winners with a DN4 Post Code;
17 winners with a DN5 Post Code;
Etc.0 -
I have had another £10 win this week, that must be the 4th this year and about the 8th since I started two years ago.0

I've been playing postcode lottery for 3 years and have won £30 only. I did query them as I noticed most big winners seem to be in the Scotland area. They sent me an email to say I'd won £10 I replied it costs me that amount to play each month so technically I've won nothing!! I've also noticed how they are heavily plugging themselves on TV a lot and begging you to buy a ticket like you're really going to win a vast amount of money L.M.A.O.. AFter 3 years playing and living in a relatively big postcode I'm beginning to think this lottery is just a waste of money no matter how the adverts make it look so easy to win big.0

I've just checked my emails and been informed of a £10 win, think that's our fifth one, be nice if the next win is a big one!!.. I can dream....0

My concern, apart from noticing that out of 5 latest winning postcodes 2 are Scotland, 2 are Nottingham/Stoke on Trent and one near London, that the 25 grand one was Bolton and the 3 Million winners Crew (near Newcastle/Stoke on Trent (ie all bar one up North) and that many of the Good Causes are specifically Scottish, Peoples Postcode Directors, Management and the Charities are allowed to participate in the draws. Even though the rules state any individual wins they get over 5 grand have to be donated to their trusts (or words to that effect) it still doesn't sound right to me.
Just checked latest winners and again a bias to the North, 3 out of 5. Nottingham /Scotland again with another to London. Reckon I will give up on it after this month if that's all the odds are stacked like that. .0
