So nice to catch up with everyone...have been away at work and visiting family. Last shift tomorrow and then off for 2 weeks. My dress fitting went amazingly...I look like a princess and am so happy! Managed to get my bridesmaid dresses and they fit. All is going well. Looking forward to the next two weeks now to do the finishing touches...0

SOOOOO PLEASED FOR YOU!!!! Yay! How does it feel being a married woman?0 -
Congratulations Cats! Glad the snow didn't get in the way too much!! Can't wait to see a picture or two!
My hen do yesterday was fab even with the snow too
Got taken to see Potted Potter at the theatre (it's Harry Potter abridged, so funny, I highly recommend it!) then went to the Haymarket hotel for afternoon tea, then a limo back to my favourite local restaurant for dinner and finished up in the pub til 2 am drinking more and doing a bit of karaoke. Was an amazing day
Have got quite a bit done in the last few days. I think today's job will be making up the flowers for the centrepieceswill post a proper update on progress soon!

Yay skoobs glad you had a good day! The facebook pics look good
I had my hair trial yesterday and completely shocked myself by deciding to wear my hair up! I had always fully intended to wear it down - I like it to sort of hide my face a bit and my fat shoulders lol...but as they pointed out I will have a veil and a stole to do that...and it did look amazing upI felt like a princess! I am really pleased I listened to the hairdresser because we had done it all down, and I was pleased with it and when we were about to pack up she said she always likes people to let her just pin it up as well just so they can be absolutely sure they want it down so I let her...and then we all preferred it that way.
We have also made the table plan, decorated the postbox for the cards and my mum has written out all the place cards. I now have enough shoe boxes to put all the things in for each table so I will do that over the next few evenings - won't take long at all. My sister tried on her bridesmaid dress after it had been adjusted and it looks lovely. We bought ivory pashminas from Monsoon for the bridesmaids just in case it is freezing, which it probably will be!
I slept at my mum and dad's house last night for the first time in about three years, as my mum was fretting that I won't sleep properly in a strange bed the night before my wedding unless I have a 'practice run' first. It was really niceMy dad has been making me feel very emotional - keeps hugging me and stuff, which is unlike him as he is a brusque Scotsman. Yesterday we saw my grandparents and we were talking about the wedding and my granddad said something like 'she won't be our girl for much longer' and my dad said 'she'll always be daddy's girl' and I nearly burst into tears...my dad NEVER says things like that!
Everything is really coming together now. The list is very short - pretty much everything is sortedJust got a few days at work left this week and then things like collecting my dress, picking up the suits, taking things to the venue, etc. And paying for things! Oh, we have a meeting with the toastmaster on Tuesday which will be good to go through everything one final time.
Hope everyone else is doing well with their planning. I feel like I need to just take a deep breath and try and enjoy these last two weeks now...fingers crossed!0 -
Cats...glad you had a wonderful day! Congrats!!!
My brother has made a beautiful pastel picture of a tree on a canvas that we are going to use for our guests to print their thumbs and sign on...a lovely keepsake made even more special by the fact that my brother drew it!
2 weeks off work now to plan, sort but most of all enjoy!0 -
Hi girls,
I've just been on my hen weekend, got taken to a spa in Glasgow, was lovely
Picked my walking in music too, what do you think... http://http://m.youtube.com/?reload=9&rdm=mjnuxj306#/watch?v=nNiBeRaNtHM
Panicking that I've forgotten some major things! I know I still have a month to go but until I saw the fab jam jar & pens pics I'd never thought about pens for the guestbook....
Had make-up trial last weekend, loved what she did, this is me and my mum:
Also sorted all food out, tasting last weekend was lovely. One guest just called to tell us she's allergic to egg. We asked about dietary requirements on the invites but she didn't mention anything then, grrr! Caterers have been okay about it luckily but what if they weren't?! She's anaphylactic shock allergic so you think she would have said something earlier
Had dress fitting on Monday & they've had to take it in a size and a half! Next fitting is 10th April, 11 days before wedding. Was panicked that was cutting it fine but seamstress wants it that close so must be okay.
Congrats Cats, hope you had a wonderful day!

Lovely hair jelly!
ETA - oops - make up not hair! Silly me! Well your hair looks nice too so clearly no need to pay a hairdresser on the day! :rotfl:0 -
Glad you loved what she did... you look lovely!0

Is anyone else so excited they might burst?!
Only one thing has gone wrong recently here...the page boy outfits I got for my nephew don't fithe will be 11 months and I got him an outfit in 9-12 months to try and one in 12-18 months and both are too small! He is such a gigantic chunky baby! There isn't time now to order the next size up and if we did it would be too long, because they were fine length wise but just didn't fit him round
I'm not sure what to do and feel a bit sad because if he is not a page boy then OH's sister (his mum) is the only person in the immediate family who is not involved in the wedding party. My sister is maid of honour and my brother is usher, and OH's brother is best man. By having OH's sister's baby as page boy it would have felt like she was more involved. I know it's a relatively small issue in the scheme of things but still...
